Today on ebay I scored myself an in box, good condition with on yellowing VAVILOUS DX for $51. It was an impulsive buy and I have no idea of the value or the history of this toy. Far as I know it’s a Godaikin made around 1985. Can you guys give me more information on this toy and the price value of this guy? Thanks

If I'm correct, Vavilos is the command vehicle of the space police Shaider. You know, the awful dub, but wildly entertaining import aired in channel 2 around the late 80's. I believe, it was also coopted in the VR trooper series by Saban.

I believe, it was also coopted in the VR trooper series by Saban. Vavilos is a great buy for $51, congratulations. The DX is a triple combiner (gun, robot, ship) and is very underappreciated. I do believe it came out in about 1985 and didn't sell that well. So many collectors were spoiled by the earlier Tetsujin, Combattler, and Voltes V. Vavilos deserved more respect. Now I would say that they have been selling for over $85 in C8+ condition. Let's just hope it arrives in good condition after shipping  -Then tell us how YOU like it. We would love to see a mini-review on it. Ed |

I just scored one, myself, last month for $30 (damn, we're both lucky!)), and I can tell you that you got a great deal and it's a very cool toy. My main problem with it is that I really don't care for the robot mode. The ship and gun mode are the best, and it's easier and more fun to transform between the two.

thanks for all the details about this VAVILOUS. the seller said it is in very good condition. i just hope his verison of good condition is the same as my verison of good condition.

i recevied my valilous dx today and it looks great. no yellowing or paint wear of any kind. the transformation is pretty simple but nice. the best part of this toys is the gun mode. well worth it, $51 for a small part of japanese toy history. the only problem is that its not complete  missing 2 small missiles and not much diecast. this vavilos comes in a all english box and make me wondering if this is japanese release or an US release. wilson |
