yep. Those were done by Mike Hill based on Alex Ross. from my understanding only very few were made if not one of each.
The Supes sold on ebay earlier this year... i'll post some pics of what i have.
i like them...maybe i should ask mike if he would do another set. LOL!
by the way. That's how they would look in real life. And I don't think they are overweight. Ever see a body builder in person with clothes on? They're not exactly slim, manny.

I always loved Ross' depiction of Supes, especially in Kingdom Come. It's like a tribute to the original Superman, George Reeves. That statue looks dead on by the way...

I respect Alex Ross's talent (I even got the Absolute edition of his Justice League books)... but I dislike with how he's obsessed with the Silver Age (or Earth 2) versions of characters. I wish he'd draw some Earth 1 stuff from time to time... I mean I'd like to see his take on a younger World's Finest team...
But for what they are, yeah, those sculpts are dead-on for Ross's drawings. It's uncanny how lifelike they are.

yeah carlo, calling them overweight would be exagerating, sorry but they are definitely in their 50's. not overweight, but the muscles are sagging already regarding bodybuilders, in real life, they would look great in spandex. you will not see the body's ripped detail when covered with spandex, of course. but the bulk and form will show through- big chest, traps, shoulders, arms, forearms, thighs. small waist, thick neck, etc. sorry i can't agree with you on this- "That's how they would look in real life". here's an alex ross art of superman- i think the sculptor, though very talented, exaggerated on the "old" theme a bit. superman is mature looking, probably mid 30's, in ross' art, and muscular. big upper body, not too big waist, thick thighs. the wax figure looks over the hill best regards by the way. That's how they would look in real life. And I don't think they are overweight. Ever see a body builder in person with clothes on? They're not exactly slim, manny.

these lifesize stats are cool- made with fiberglass and with clothe capes. just like yexel's, but with better sculpts and paintjob. and cool bases too.

Ross said that he draws his heroes a little older just to give them "character" plus it gives then more depth in the face when they have some character lines. My only gripe is although his Supes or Bats or whatever have really good physiques when they don't have their costumes on, but once he draws them on most of their definition is lost. I know this is how it would be in real life, but a little in costume definition would be nice, they are still Super Heroes.

i like the version of superman in the cover of "mythologies". DCD didn't give him justice in his action figures and stats IMO. i'm asking a friend of mine if he could do the superman in the alex ross art. here's the hulk bust he did in resin and acrylic paint... some filipino mythology stuff... ...hope he could do the superman right btw, the paintjob of the hulk can be better with oil paint. the shading wud be more subtle and life like. he can do the sculpt, i can finish it with oil paints.

nice sculpt of hulk manny. honestly. i think that sculpt deserves the grey hulk paint theme than the savage green one. hulk looks like he is thinking which is contrary to his savage green phase. the grey hulk is the half transformed hulk on which dr. banner retains some sanity in his mind rather than his green hulk transformation where he has no control of his strength. ill be a lot more excited if you make a kaiser bust with removable pileder.
