had it seen the light of day.... sigh The 1/60 Scale HW-00 MKII Destroid Monster a.k.a. "The Coffee Table!!!" See how it dwarfs even the 1/48 VF-1 in the background? This would have been a really awesome addition to peoples Macross collection, but would have been a real b*tch to ship!!! Some background information on this "monster" (pun intended): macross.anime.net//mecha/united_nations/armour_artillery/hwr00/index.html

Too big I doubt a lot of people would have had the space to display that in all its glory. It would've cost about $600-$1K too, only super die-hard macross fans would've sprung for it. And its Yamato so It would've been fragile as heck. I'm satisfied with my 1/100 Yamato transforming Destroid Monster

LOL!
True about it going to just the snobbest of Macross collectors.
But the "good" thing about it is, it doesn't transform! Which means it's not likely to have any weak parts that might break.
Kinda like the 1/60 Queadluun Rau. Built like a fricken Tonka truck!

I would have bought it. Would have been willing to swear off other toys for a while just to get that thing. Collectors of other toy lines can have statues, props and even mixed media "Museum Quality" figures as the centerpiece of their collection. This would have been the centerpiece of mine.

One of the cannons is starting to fall. Seems it can't stand on its own, see those boxes supporting it.

The Monster posted above was a resin model of what the production version would have been. It's likely that it doesn't have any rubber caps for resistance which makes it look droopy. ;D
