Can someone provide a summary of this robot anime? From: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gurren_lagannStoryTengen Toppa Gurren Lagann takes place in a fictional future where human beings have been forced underground and thrive in isolated subterranean civilizations on Earth. These "villages" have no contact with the surface world nor other villages. Since frequent earthquakes damage infrastructure, the villages must constantly expand deeper into the earth — individuals designated to this task are known as "diggers". Giha Village is the home of Simon, a fourteen year-old digger who was orphaned when his parents were killed in an earthquake. Respected by the village elder as the best of the diggers, but ostracized by his peers, he discovers a special drill key deep in the ground, and recruited by an eccentric fellow orphan named Kamina into his group, the "Team Gurren". Kamina dreams of the surface world, which he visited as a child with his father, but had to return home because he was too weak to survive. After a failed attempt at reaching the surface, Kamina is jailed by the elder and Simon resumes digging, only to discover "a big face" deep in his tunnel. As he excitedly fetches Kamina to show him the discovery, he is caught by the village elder, but Kamina's punishment is interrupted by the ceiling of Giha Village collapsing, as an enormous robot falls into the cavern. A girl named Yoko appears and tries to fight it with a large rifle, but cannot do much. Simon takes Kamina and Yoko to the "big face" he found earlier and discovers that the small drill key can be used to activate the small robot, which he uses to end up destroying the intruder, and effectively break through to the surface. On the surface, Simon and Kamina discover there are more large robots known as Gunmen, piloted by "Beastmen", that terrorize the surface dwellers during the day. Simon and Kamina help Yoko and her village destroy three more Gunmen and Kamina takes one for himself, naming it the Gurren. Eventually, Simon and Kamina decide that they will go on a journey to end the constant struggle between the Beastmen and humans, and are initially accompanied by Yoko and a mechanic from Yoko's village named Leeron, as they head out to find the Beastmen's Human Eradication Army headquarters, while dealing with various Beastmen warriors, including the vicious Viral. Along the way, Simon and the others are joined by more humans, including the "Black Siblings", led by Kittan, and Rossiu, a strict young man from an underground village, forming the "Team Dai-Gurren", leading up to a major battle with the Human Eradication Army, which results in the death of Kamina, the arrival of Nia, the mysterious "daughter" of the Beastmen leader, Lord Genome, and the population of Earth's surface. The second half of the series moves seven years into the future, where mankind has become prosperous, led by Simon and members of the Team Dai-Gurren. Though all seems well, after 1,000,000 humans populate the surface, a new catastrophe begins with the arrival of the Anti-Spirals, including Nia's sudden "transformation" into their messenger, and the threat of the moon literally falling onto the Earth. Simon, along with the reformed Team and former enemy, Viral, now lead the battle to defeat the Anti-Spirals and save the Earth.

My random Gurren Lagann thought of the day: ****SPOILERS**** They would be COMPLETELY LOST without Lord Genome's AWESOME head in a jar!! They would have absolutely no clue what to do after episode 17. Even if they managed to jump-start the Arc Gurren with Nia's dna....then what? I'll tell you what. They'd watch the moon and the earth get intimate with each other. Lots of fireworks and noise. Then maybe they'd park the Arc Gurren on Mars and start over or something. Lord Genome has the equivalent of like 3 Einstein's packed into that watermellon-sized skull of his! A thousand years of spiral knowledge. ( It sure is a good thing he didn't land on it when he took a swan-dive off Tepperin. ;D ) I mean, Leeron's a freaking genius but even he rides the short bus to school when compared to Genome. The dude's smart. Which brings me to this. It was most likely Rossiu's idea to preserve his head. He saved everyone. Yeah....everyone's favorite character. ![;)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/wink.png)

I didn't think it was a preserved head? I thought they grew the head.

I didn't think it was a preserved head? I thought they grew the head. Actually, the fansubs are a little vague: "a biocomputer built from his cells." But I take it to mean the cells in his head that they were able to salvage---which would probably be most of them? They probably had to clone some nerve-tissue to repair some of the connections, though. If it was totally cloned then there would just be a powerful brain---but with zero knowledge....

Why is it so hard to find this toy? i cant even find it on ebay. Here you go, but it's seriously overpriced. cgi.ebay.com/Konami-Gurren-Lagann-japan-animate-Impact-model-series_W0QQitemZ120277080255QQihZ002QQcategoryZ1345QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemI said I was gonna get one before it came out, but I was caught up with other things and didn't buy this. Regretting it big time. I even send my sister to HK to help me find one of these and no luck. I hope they will release some more this year but I have a feeling I am missing out on the TOTY with this one. I could be wrong as Daimos SOC is coming out and So is JEEG but I'm not all thar impress with the SOC line right now. Classic robots can only go so far and there are so many reditions. Gurren, I guess I will have to settle for the Model Kits or the Revoltech.

Since the Great Impact Model Gurren Lagann is so expensive, I decided to go with Konami's PVC Impact Model Gurren Lagann Wing Version, THIS ONE: www.hlj.com/product/KNM13501If someone has this and the Revoltech version, which one do you think is better. I was really dissapointed with the last Revoltech that I got, Revoltech 37 the Shin Getter 1. It was missing the bat wings. Aside from that, it just wasn't nearly as good as the promotional pictures on the box.

I have both, and I tell you... the Revoltech is way better IMHO. Can't wait for the rest of the Wing Pack to come out. Have you seen the exclusive "metalic" crimson Gurren Lagann??? It comes with the wing pack and looks AWESOME!!!
