What is the difference between the new GD-56 and last year's GD-45 versions?

Last years GD-45 (and GD-45M more recently - www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?BAN916144) were Mecha-Godzilla 2003 which was based on the design from last years Mecha-Godzilla film 'Godzilla vs Mecha-Godzilla' ( www.imdb.com/title/tt0314111/). It's a complete redesign over the original Mecha-Godzilla design. I don't own the GD-45 toy though so I can't comment on the quality, believe he's pretty heavy on the diecast though. This year's GD-56 ( www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?BAN916145) is Mecha-Godzilla 1974 the design is based on the original Mecha-Godzilla from the original 1974 'Godzilla vs Mecha-Godzilla' ( www.imdb.com/title/tt0071565/). I can't comment on this toy either, but this time that's because it's shipping to me at the moment. Have heard it's light on die-cast though, still looks just like the original so that's cool with me. Finally this year's GD-57 ( www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?BAN919847) is Mecha-Godzilla 2004 and is based on the version from the newest Gozilla movie - 'Godzilla vs Mothra Vs Mecha-Godzilla; Tokyo SOS' ( www.imdb.com/title/tt0366526/). It appears to be much the same as GD-45 from last year though, I'll be able to say more when it's released next year as I've got one on order. I suspect it'll be much the same, maybe with a few small variations in the detail. Hope that clears it up a little. Now what I'd really like to see is a Mecha-King Ghidora, that'd be really cool.

Additional changes between GD-45 and GD-57.
GD-45 is in the oh so sexy chrome finnish.
GD-57 is in the plain, industrial dull silver grey finnish (as is the old school GD-56).
GD-57 gets a new drill hand attatchment (Talk to the Hand!) and chest missile insert.
If I wasn't so buy happy, I would have passed on the GD-57. The GD-45 really looks great spotlighted. The GD-57 is , eh. I relegated the GD-57 to the lowest display shelf already. It just doesn't have that "OH, SEXY" come hither look that the GD-45 has.
Does anyone have any suggestions for other chrome mecha pieces in the 5-8" height range?
My display case contains my Gold Lightan toys, Training Getta Robos, Saint Seiya Cloths, and the GD-45.
Non Bling Bling items are relagated to my lowest shelf.

Don't suppose you've got any pictures of the GD-45M?
I've picked up both the GD-56 and GD-57 and much as I like them both, you're probably right that the extra shine would add something to the Mechagodzilla 2004. The weight and detail of the GD-57 is excellent though.
