1990 Super Valkyrie reissue. Has a weird head, IIRC. The box doesn't seem to have much Japanese on it, so perhaps it is the European version...

If you are looking for cheaper ones, there is the re-issues made by Bandai, so the reissues are currently the recent ones.
The VF-1S appeared both on the TV series and the DYRL movie.
The one you posted is the valk where most bootleg valks got molded from.

So, this is a reissue of the original Takatoku figure, right? How does it compare to the original? A friend has bought both from ebay, but they haven't shipped yet, he bought the original Takatoku one and this one...

Some crazy seller listed another toy like this one which he called a 1987 Bandai original Super Valkyrie. I tried correcting him but he started to get mad. I remember this came out in the early nineties for about $39.99 new, I didn't get it because it look like crap, clear canopy, ugly head and just not quite like the Tak Valk or the Bandai original like Strike Valkyrie.

hello robot caretakers..im fairly new to the site..and the question and answer format..thanks for input to bandai transforming green insect..the die cast content is the legs which also double when transformed as the front wheel arches...also die cast is the front of the insect when transformed..but is the underside of the car...phew!..i hope this makes sense ..the spoiler fits snug when in car mode..but when transformed has me at a loss which position it should be?..ps the spoiler has almost a fish fin appearance...knowledge is everything.....bandai...singapore..1985...peace and collecting for the world!!

See I liked it because of the box art and the super jet packs. Here is a sorry link by me, but a bit more.... www.robotjapan.com/super_valkyrie.htm

The green insectoid has nothing whatsoever to do with Macross. It is a Bandai Vamp from the Challenge of the Gobots toy line.
It can be either the small version or the large Super Gobot version.
Edit: seeing the copyright, it is the large version.
