Hello all, I am new in the world of robots. I played as a child in the middle of the eighties with MotU and transformers/gobots. I collect some years vintage carded MotU figures and now I start to collect with vintage transformers/gobots. I received this figure from a friend of mine, he sayed that this figure is a gobot. Is that true? The card looks different than normal gobot cards. Take a look: This is not a picture from my figure, but the same card. I hope I can get help from you all.

Har-har.
Gobot in mold only, 1993 European release by Bandai - Tonka was in the paws of Hasbro by then (and with Tonka, Gobots, too).
Don't worry, except for the copyright and year of manufacturing and packaging and sticker details it's exactly the same as a regular Scooter... ;D
Edit: Oh, and there might be some minor mold changes...but seeing I've got like 4 different versions of the original 1980s Scooter... ;D

Oh boy, it's the same like MotU? In the vintage MotU toyline are existing many many different country packaging and figure variants.
No, I mean only the "normal" gobots!

Indeed it is a Gobot Grey. Welcome to the BBS It is a European release toy and doesn't have Tonka toys "Gobot branding". All gobots were first made in Japan and then re-released to other countries. It was sold as a MR or Machine Robot in Japan and here it is sold under the name of Robo Machine. So.... I'd say you have an Italian / European carded toy. It is fully liscensed by Bandai and legit. I would guess it might be made outside of Japan. Ed
