Hello, I just wondered if anyone had seen this colour variation of Hornet #61. All the gobot websites I can find only show him in an blue / purple colour and is listed as having no colour variation! Any info would be great. Many Thanks.

Hornet was released in blue in North America, and in grey in Europe. Hope that answers your question.
Both are not rare, in fact I see the grey one more often than the blue one. (BTW, the Hornet in that pic is missing his back fin)
Fun fact: the grey Hornet comes in two variations himself: the red stars on the stickers on his arms can be either bright red or dark red...

Hello Thomas, Man alive! - your smoking!. Thanks for the answer. In the same ebay lot i got this one in I also got a Super Gobot Raizor (without helicotor blades) and a Renault version of Slicks. Are these any good (rare, worth anything?). Many Thanks. Is there any websites that could explain the variations to me, rather than keep asking?

In the same ebay lot i got this one in I also got a Super Gobot Raizor (without helicotor blades) and a Renault version of Slicks. Are these any good (rare, worth anything?). Many Thanks. Nice condition Raizor. He's not particularly rare in Europe, unlike in the US. Slicks with Renault stickers is another European version. You got the one with Renault stickers on the sides, which is fairly common. There's also an all yellow one with Renault stickers, which is rarer. BTW, the white limousin (Tux) is also the European version ('cause it has stickers on its doors). You might want to check out the molded copyright on each toy. Toys made in Japan are either US or Japanese releases, toys made in Singapore, Macau, Thailand, or China are European releases. This does not apply to Super Gobots and certain later releases, though. You could try Gobots.net or the Super toyarchive, those are the best sites currently available. Please be aware that Gobots.net mixes up US, European, Australian, and Japanese releases, which makes it kinda confusing. Super toyarchive has good listings of US releases, but is otherwise incomplete. To my knowledge there's currently no site that does a really good job at explaining the (European) variants. There's no Gobots-version of "Fred's Complete Transformers Variants and Variations page" ( www.geocities.com/futuristgroup/vquanda.html). It's something that's on my 'to-do'-list...

Hello,
Many thanks for your informative reply Thomas, you really know your stuff. It looks like all of those shown were europen versions (all have Macau on them).
I much refer the gobot range to the transformer range of toys. If on nothing else than the diecast content.
Thanks once again.

I've just seen the result of your auction, and 22 quid! That's really high for a lot in that condition (but then lately the prices have been going up and up and up...).

I know, I'm very pleased with it. I guess people are buying for Christmas.
Anyway, thanks very much for your help.
