The Brave Gokin 02 Star Gaogaigar(Gaogaigar upgraded for space battle). Essentially just a "repack" of the GGG and Goldion Hammer set. Nothing extra included(drats!) But the Brave Gokin 02 is limited to 1000 pieces worldwide. Boxes Boxes side view Star Gaogaigar Brave Gokin 1, 1x, 2 Gaogaigar and Goldy Marg Goldy Marg Tank mode BTW, I think the extra "big hand(for GGG to hold the Hammer without the Marg Hand)" is also included in the Goldion Hammer (1x) set, so looks like nothing is really different here. Too bad, I was really hoping to get at least a pewter Guy statue. Gold

BTW, I forgot to mention, for some strange reason, my giftset DID NOT come with the belly cover for the Stealth Gao(even if it's indicated in the manual). The regular non-giftset Brave 01 has this piece.
I asked my retailer about it and he checked the piece from his own collection and has the same problem. I'm not sure if this is just isolated to just the batch he got from his supplier. So far it seems the regular sets are in fact one up on the giftset.. now that's a first....
Hopefully the ones being distributed by Diamond in the US release won't have the missing panel problem.

I just noticed, there are some slight changes with the Giftset, for one, the Dividing driver's position has been fixed(it was skewed in the regular GGG) and the "GGG" logo on the back of the Stealth Gao is now Green instead of gold. Oh, and it turns out the missing cover piece on the Stealth Gao was really not included with the giftset, it's only available in the "Power up set" Gold

In the Giftset it looks like it was intentionally removed.. for reasons unknown.. Gold

A little late, but finally got this huge boxset afterall, after months of contemplating not to, especially after getting the CM DX GGGG, with a huge hole in my wallet. Didn't have any experience either with the CM Brave Gokin series, but just read reviews online. Not too great overall from what I heard. And when I heard there was a huge price drop on the GGG in HK everywhere, I cancelled my Star GGG preorder from HLJ. Thinking this would be worse than the DX GGGG in terms of quality. So glad I was wrong...
Gripes on this release:
- My Gaigar right hip ratchet is much looser than my left. Took me some time to figure out a way to fix it by swapping some inner pieces within the two hips. Now they both ratchets more even, though not as tight as its should. But still better.
- Weird/Unstable connection when Liner Gao (train) attached to Gaigar's torso. CM actually designed a stopper inside Gaigar's chest bottom to secure the train, but there is no peg hole on the bottom of the train for the stoppers to rest on. So now even though it is tight enough to secure the train, it slides left & right occasionally with nothing to lock it in place, and the blue paint on top of the train got scratches off because of this weird design.
- No peg or attachment to help the lion mane sits still after gattai. Moves out of place all the time when you grab the figure or moved the Stealth Gao slightly.
- Nothing to keep the Gaogaigar head from dropping down from Stealth Gao's belly in Gao Machine mode without using the cover. And yeah, its too loose after gattai too like people mentioned.
- Stealth Gao II add on parts not tight enough. Both the gold rings & Voltech engines come off a bit too easy from the wings.
- Goldy's joints can be a little tighter and more sturdy overall.
- A few messy paint spots/imperfection on the chrome parts.
So was this a bad purchase afterall? Heck NO! ;D
With all these flaws, this Star GGG is still surprisingly a great toy. It is not as sturdy as a gattai SOC, but enough to still hold everything in place and to fiddle with it around, doing cool poses and changing accessories and all. It does a lot of things that my DX GFG & DX GGGG couldn't do. A simpler(but very accurate still) gattai than the GGGG, and almost no part swap unlike the DX GFG, which has a ton. The brave gokin is smaller of course, but the weight is great. And with all the options and accessories, the given stands helped to support all the add ons so that GGG won't topple over. But if its just the GGG by itself, its weight is very well balanced. And love all the solid ratchet joints everywhere & sturdy connection overall, making the gattai very fun and stays solid as a whole, without the overly complicated details the DX GGGG has. And since I got burnt by the DX GGGG with no accessories coming with it, the full on accessories in this boxset makes me super happy. You can do so much with this toy. This is GREAT! Very satisfying! ;D
I may not get the other upcoming GFG & GGGG brave gokin, as they do get pricey, and don't want too many duplicates since I already have the bigger DX versions. But its nice to at least have a very complete GGG gattai diecast with a lot of play value, good poseability, and full on accessories. And this CM Star GGG set do just that! Not a perfect toy by far, but a surprisingly good one!

I just bought one on Ebay yesterday, and I've been having buyer's remorse (I keep on thinking "you could have bought a Japanese King Gosaurer or the new Great Might Gaine Perfect Cannon gift set for that price!!" >_<), so it's good to read some positive comments about the toy. I'm actually much more excited about the upcoming releases, though. An affordable Genesic, a GaoFighGar that actually transforms, a Great Raijin-Oh that looks *good* combined.... they're really on a role ^_^
