I was talking to a number of robot collector friends and we noted that there isn't a repository of instruction scans for brave series toys. I know there are sites dedicated to TF instruction scans (which I had to turn to a few times after getting bots from e-bay) Has anyone else considered this? I know brave toys pop up now and again without packaging and instruction scans so a site having scans of the DX and STD transforming figs would be a good time saver. (I know some transformations are fairly simple) NB10 P.S the site would have scans from ALL series not just a select few as I have seen (rarely)

Yeah, I've thought of that myself a few times, actually. I used to have every toy from the Fighbird series up on my old site (r.i.p...), but a dedicated all-encompassing site would sure be nice. I promise to donate as many scans as I can!

what is the limit on the amount of files that can be uploaded to a yahoo group? I had thought that maybe a yahoo group dedicated to Instruction scans of each series (1 for goldran 1 for fighbird etcetc) may suffice until a more permanent solution could take place I found segments of the gaogaigar instruction sheet online and was able to merge them together into 1 (large) jpeg (which personally is a lot better to look at than a number of smaller jpegs showing only a portion of the entire sheet.

Good job! And I know that between the 15-odd fans that we around here ( ), I'm sure we can muster scans from every release -- even some of the more obscure items... A Yahoo group isn't such a bad idea, but server space is limited, and it would require people to sign up, etc. I'll ask around, and see if anyone is willing to donate webspace. To be continued...

Sonokong's website used to have all the instructions. This was like 5 years ago. /=)

I figured the yahoo bit may have been farfetched but it owuld at least have been a temp solution whlle webspace was being sought out. I think that for the gaogaigar mech there are so many versions that it would need a page all to itself if something like the site idea would work maybe it could be extended to other non TF transforming figs (lkike power rangers eldoran etc.)

zincpanic often posts instructions for toys. they also have virtually all the brave and eldoran toys listed. it may be worth talking to those guys as they may be open to hosting the pics and tying them to the toy entries.

I was just thinking maybe instructions could be expanded to translation or how to guides say for easier transformations of complex characters (or fragile ones like that GGG figure mentioned elsewhere) maybe even include instructions for repairing say electronic parts for some figures or the like. Gaurenteed someone out ther could benefit from this

For starters, I am -- as promised -- still looking for server space for the instruction scans. In regards to translations and simplyfied instructions, I can only say that I don't think that's nessecary(sp). In my years of collecting many japanese items, I have never really had any problems with understanding the transformations going by the pictures alone. So in my mind, I don't think it's needed. Besides, I don't find Takara's Braves all that complicated. With the eletcronic parts, then it really can't be done. Most of the electronic parts are custom made micro-chip based stuff (i.e. the lights'n'sounds in Deckerd), so trying to fix anything other than a loose wire connection is impossible. Trust me, I've tried...

hehh yeah thats basically what I was referring to with the connections...but maybe an LED has to be replaced (they do blow!) I've even seen the speakers replaced (they are somewhat easy to pull if they are not attached to a control board) I've sometimes wondered if someone could do repro parts for these toys I know that G1 transformers has a number of places where meticulous repro parts 9and labels) are made maybe that could extend to the brave series? (or am i grasping at straws?)

I think the market is too limited for someone to start making large amounts of Brave reproduction parts... too bad, really, but I know a few people who do cast their own parts, and I might be able to persuade them to do limited runs of certain parts. Am going out of town for a few weeks, so I won't be able to look more into that at the moment, though...
