I got mine today and I have to join the group that was very dissapointed in this toy. The concept behind the whole toy is great, however............very little diecast and parts of this toy is very fragile if you are not careful. I am talking majorly of the arm area, if you move it in a certain way while transforming it you are likely to break something. Definitely not worth the price tag that Yamato is charging. Quality is not quite what I expect compared to the Valks.

Ugh. Disappointing. Kinda makes me glad I didn't rush out to pre-order one when the first news of it surfaced.

Ouch, no diecast? I thought the main chest unit was diecast. Sigh. Makes me wonder whatever happened to the Max Gokin Garland? It's been pretty quiet over at the Maxfactory website last I checked, nothing but female statues.

Yeah, I thought the chest was zinc, too. That's why I thought this was disappointing. Even so, cool video review Josh!

Sorry I didn't save the pics but I remember there were pics of unpainted prototype released at the same time as Yamato's at a toy show in Japan a while back(this was before the Maxfactory Mazinkaiser's release). But no word on it from Maxfactory after that. Gold

no diecast= no good I used to think that way too. But the Yamato 1/48s changed my view of it. Sometimes low or no zinc is good. Sometimes it's not.

Am I really the only person out here who loves this guy?

Eh, the design is fine. It's just I had never seen the anime so it doesn't capture my heart as much as something which I did experience as a kid does.

When I first saw it in a store (bot mode), I was like meh, especially when the guy told me it didn't have die-cast. But after seeing the video review, I think I want it to go with my 1/48 Max Jenius.

Bought it, and I love it!!! Transformation is amazing, and the magnets are REALLY clever.
