The bot looks decent but the vehicle is hilarious. It's like Loony Tunes meets Giant Robots. Daffy Duck bot? I think my young son would love it. I just hope that CM's Corp ends up making Tryder G-7.

A bit delayed in my response here, but, this toy roocks!Exceeded all expectations for me.Smaller than original but I think more diecast.Tokyo Mammoth is all plastic as the orig.but this is necessary for the design to work.Really well detailed and well tooled.Had it since it's Japan release and am still entertained.A really fine match for Go-Shogun with comparable quality.

I love that it's transformed mode looks like those animal suits where there's a person in the front and a person in the back. That and the fact that it comes with a purple robo-ostrich. It's so wacky that it's endearing.

Pardon my bump, I got the limited HK version of Sankan-Oh and thought some people might be interested in pictures ;D What can I say about Sankan-Oh, really? He's photogenic. He's very well balanced, with very nice and tight joints. His chrome is practically flawless. (it was tricky not to get my own head in any of these shots) ... and that means he's RIDICULOUSLY shiny, with a lot of nice bronze accents and metallic flake paint. He looks great from just about any angle. (There's my head and camera just to the left of the shield's tusks. D'oh!) He comes with some kinda ostrich-bird thing... Ack! That's not exactly PETA friendly, is it? Let's try that picture again... ... much better! He can get pretty protective of his Mammoth-roadster, and didn't approve of Goshogun's earlier hi-jinks... ... but while the cat's away, the mice will play (or in this case, the robo-ostrich will drive off in your smokin' metallic flake painted elephant hotrod) In the end, everyone gets along just fine, and Sankan-Oh gets a big thumbs up and a permanent seat in my collection . Miles better than Goshogun, and a steal for the price I got him for. I even like his ridiculous Tokyo-Mammoth mode (GoShogun looks pretty badass on it). If ever I find a good deal on his brother, Gyakuten-Oh, I'll definitely have to pick him up. An awesome piece, and lots of fun.

Awesome pics man. I almost like Gyakuten-Oh and Sankan-Oh more than my SOC figures. I don't know why, they're just super gorgeous figures that feel ultra special to me. The alt modes are hilariously delicious.

Bandai's SOCs may have the finesse, but CM's Brave figures have the funk. They're really not figures I would otherwise have pegged myself for liking that much, but the build quality, finish, and eccentric design just makes them irresistible.

Sankan oh is a beautifully crafted figure. I just can't get past the weirdness of the mammoth and duck. Still incredibly tempting buys though. If only there weren't so many great things to buy at the moment.

For my money, if you can get a good deal on him, he's totally worth it. Luxuriously heavy and the finish is absolutely divine. The mammoth and ostrich are weird, it's true, but they're all part of the charm.

I couldn't resist the 50% off deal so I got the Limited Edition Sankan-Oh off eBay this week. What a beauty this figure is. It's gloriously shiny with loads of chrome. The paint is metallic on the robot and the mammoth vehicle. Even the unpainted plastic has a scintillating/glittery sheen (both the opaque and clear plastics)!. It's hard for pictures to do this piece justice.
The build quality is amazing just as it was for Goshogun. Terrific attention to details like the tiny painted figures inside of the head of the mammoth (you can see them when you swing open the eye "doors" of the mammoth). There is also a small figure in the cockpit of the ship/head though it's all white. The tiny Ippatsuman figure that fits in Sankan-Oh's chest is fully painted (fortunately, the door on mine is not loose). The joints are tight in many places and ratcheted in others (e.g., shoulder, knees). The ship/backpack features removable wings that can form a crescent moon weapon and retractable landing gear (fully painted but no moving wheels). The plastics on this figure are of very nice quality. Then there's the metal content: Very old school with tons of diecast metal giving the Sankan-Oh figure impressive heft. Even the packaging is old school with the use of molded styrofoam.
The transformation process is simple but still satisfying. The mammoth vehicle is growing on me. My young kids love it! It is silly but charming.
The accessories are cool. The gun, the blindingly shiny axe and shield, the extra hands including articulated ones, and the funny duck vehicle which houses the villains in the show and has a detachable head (kids love this, too) are all well crafted.
The differences that I can make out between the standard and limited editions as far as I can tell from pictures: 1) Limited Sankan-oh robot features metallic black paint; yellow paint is replaced with gold paint, and yellow plastic is replaced with gold chromed plastic; 2) Limited version of fighter ship/backpack has plain red plastic replaced with sparkling red plastic, yellow paint replaced with gold paint, and clear blue plastic replaced with sparkling clear blue plastic; the blue plastic of the backpack may also have been replaced with sparkling blue plastic but I'm not sure; 3) Limited version of the mammoth vehicle has had white plastic replaced with silver plastic (except tusks), white paint replaced with silver paint, plain red plastic replaced with sparkling red plastic, and red paint replaced with metallic red paint. I recommend the limited version, but it's really a matter of personal taste.
CM's Brave line (with the likes of Goshogun and Sankan-Oh) is really making me rethink my collecting habits. I just love the nostalgic feel of their recent creations with all that diecast, the attention to detail, and incredibly high level of quality. I'm VERY VERY impressed. I'm glad I gave Sankan-Oh a chance. If it weren't for the sale mentioned on this forum I'm sure I would've passed it up. I'm sure happy that I didn't. It's a keeper. Hope this helps anyone else who's been on the fence (like I was) about getting this.
