This is the first time I am writing a review at RJ message board. Still not that good at taking pictures. I took a lot of them and try to fix em up. Let start with the box.

Nice sturdy box. Next the inside of the box.

Kinda dissappointed with the Bubblewrap. The reissue Metallic paint version should come with some kind of foam insert like current S.H.E. releases. Now for the three Shin Getter machines.

Now change Getter 1.

Backview

Next, I wanna attempt some of the action poses that is shown on the box. Getter Tomahawk!!!

Here is a pose I came up with, probably gonna keep it this way if I decide to display this.
.
Size comparison. First with the Aoshima Shin Getter Close wing.

Here is the size comparison with the Revoltech.

All 3.

The fight, Plastic vs Plastic. Getter Beam Hadoken

IT's OVer!!!!!!!!

No, this is Studio HalfEye, Open Getter!!!!!!!!!!

Shin Getter escapes to fight another day.
I'm writing this review because there just isn't much info on Studio HalfEye (SHE) figures. It's due to the lack of information that I see a lot of unfair reviews by many reviewers. If you don't already know, SHE figures are made of RESIN. Hard plastic that isn't flexible. Lots of people said that resin is brittle. It's not brittle, it’s just not bendable. If you force it, it will break. So study the manual and try to understand how the figure transforms and the figure will be fine.
I know that SHE is reissuing this Perfect Change CV (Compact Version) Shin Getter 1 in a new metallic paint version, limited to 100. Most of the collectors here in the United States aren’t fortunate enough to live near a hobby import shop, and so we don’t get a first hand look at the figures we want and are interested in buying. Most of us rely heavily on promotional pictures from the manufactures sites and online stores. And of course, we vent and write negative reviews on toys/figures that didn’t meet our expectations. This is why I want to write a review on this SHE Perfect Change CV Shin Getter 1.
First the goods.
1. You can see from the pics that the actual product is pretty much a match to the promo pics. What you see on the outside of the box is what you will get inside the box. The paint application is good. The various poses that you see from the website, this Shin Getter can do them, but some of those poses can only be achieve with support. The wings really come in handy, necessary due to this figure’s weak balancing and joints. So, is it as advertise? I say 8/10. Color match is a 9 but this Shin Getter 1 can’t really do all of the poses in the advertisement, so it gets a 7, combine score is 8.
2. This is the only transforming Shin Getter 1 figure in the market. I don’t know of any other company out there that makes a changing/transforming Shin Getter 1. The Transformation process is complex but not too hard to understand or do. This figure is 6 years old and the engineering was great for 2002. But in comparison to something like MP-05 Megatron, the transformation isn’t all that. More complex than a Binaltech/Alternator but not as great as a masterpiece.
The Bad.
1. I knew about the looseness of the joints but I didn’t know that this Shin Getter was this floppy. I was warned by other but remain skeptical. They do include a screw driver to help tighten up the joints. Tightening the joint does help a lot. I wouldn’t recommend displaying the figure without some kind of support stand. The Wings and Getter Tomahawk can be used as support.
2. One of the reasons I really wanted to get this Shin Getter 1 was because of the 3 Shin Getter Machines. The 3 Getter Machines looks great but I would have preferred some kind of locking mechanism or system. Perhaps pegs or some kind of a latch, just to hold things together. Just so parts don’t start moving around. My Shin Eagle and Shin Jaguar is stable in Getter Machine form. Shin Bear, due to the looseness of the legs, is also somewhat floppy. But the joint can be tightened.
3. The connection points between the three Getter Machines aren’t as good as I had hoped it to be. Again, there should be some kind of locking mechanism to hold the combine parts securely. There are noticeable gaps between the Shin Jaguar and the Shin Bear. Look closely at the abdominal area and you will notice it too. The combine Shin Getter 1 holds up and doesn’t really fall apart per say, but it also doesn’t take much to separate it.
So there you have it. Studio HalfEye Perfect Change Shin Getter 1. Overall, I like this figure for what it is, a transformable Shin Getter 1 that looks great in both Getter Machine modes and Shin Getter 1 mode. SHE also designed another version of Shin Getter 1 in 2001. It was modeled after the Shin Getter 1 from Neo Getter vs. Shin Getter, 4 episode OVA. I really didn’t like the look of that Shin Getter, with the odd looking round shoulders and legs design without the green panels. I also didn’t like the looks of the boot like feet. Here is a link for comparison. halfeye.m78.com/sp_shin/ovab.html
And in comparison, the Shin Getter 1 from Revoltech, both made of plastic and both are around the same size. The Revoltech version is much more durable, but also really unstable and hard to pose. Revoltech are supposed to be great for pulling off great poses, but I find their joints system hard to understand. I'm kinda PO'ed with my Revoltech Shin Getter because mines didn't come with the wings. Brand new and seal when I got it, but no wings. It has clicking joints but it's still not as easy to pose. The Revoltech version cost less than 1/10th the price of this SHE Shin Getter 1. But the Revoltech version really doesn’t have much detail on the back side of the figure. The SHE version has much more detail as you can still see Shin Eagle’s cockpit and Shin Jaguar’s cockpit. The same can be said with the Aoshima Shin Seiki Shin Getter.

The Aoshima version is much bigger, has much better joints and is made almost entirely of die cast. It's easily the best out of the 3 Shin Getters when it comes to posing and looks. The ratchet joints makes sure that things will hold. The cost of the Aoshima Shin Getter 1 is only around 1/3rd of the SHE Shin Getter 1. But there really isn’t much you can do with it. I also like the colors on the S.H.E. version much more. I wouldn’t say that the SHE version is fun to transform and combine but at least I can do that. With the Aoshima and Revoltech versions, all you can really do is put it in poses and look at them.
Studio HalfEye products are truly expensive. A lot of people try to justify their purchase by saying that they are paying for the engineering. Some has said it was because it’s worth it to get a completed model kit, painted and assembled. Most of us know that SHE figures are expensive because of the limited and small production runs. SHE figures aren’t really mass produce, and once one model get sold out, it’s really hard to find. A good example would be the Godannar. There aren’t that many listing on Ebay or Yahoo Japan and Yahoo HK.
In the end you still have to decide for yourself. I can only provide info. IMO, rarity makes collecting much more fun. I was kinda bored, seeing how everyone has the same SOC, Aoshima, Max Factory Gokins. Although this is manufacture rarity, I’m still more attracted to items that not everyone else has or can easily get. I don’t know; it’s just much more fun to try and hunt down something.

Nice sturdy box. Next the inside of the box.
