Here is a cool excript on how to add flames to your models. It would be FUN to do this to a gundam ;D ***************************************
I suggest you get a copy of Scale Auto Enthusiast magazine special on painting. You can apply this also to Gundam models. It shows the process of painting flames, and some manufacturers sell flame templates and flame shaped masking seals. My style: base color white, then flourescent yellow, then bright yellow, then flourescent orange, then bright orange, flourescent red, then bright red, then red, then dull red to black---on a prepared template, remove template, then overcoat with clear. You don't overcoat everything, just on the edges. Can't give you thorough detail, it needs photos and illustrations.

Then on making a "Brim stone base" for dioramas **************************************** You can make Brimstone from cast plaster or a rock for diorama or base, first, coat it with white primer, then coat it with flouresacent yellow, to produce the very hot part of the brimstone, then lightly shade it with bright yellow to mustard yellow to simulate cooling brimstone and sulfur. Dont use actual brimstone and sulfur. You can add yellow or red LED to simulate fire, either on the mobile suit or in the base. To simulate lava, paint flourescent red first on a white based surface, then lightly overcoat it with clear red to simulate drying lava and flat black on the edges. Cotton can be used to simulate smoke. I think the best MS there is Deathscythe Hell Custom. if you can make it look like Gene Simmons (Kiss' Bassist a.k.a. The Demon) there are action figures of him. You can get some parts and paint idea from that, like the dragon legs, spiked heels. Also check the Tortured Souls series. The paints on the MS will be like on the Deathscythe Custom, but you can add more black, more purple, more copper, more red. You can also use the Scythe of the MS, but instead of the Beam-type, paint it with silver and paint the edges clear red to simulate blood.
