I quite like the look of the upcoming AMSIA Gundam Seed models, but before I decide whether I'll get them or not, I was wondering if anyone could comment on the quality of AMSIA models?
So in particular I'm wondering how they compare with normal MSIA figures. Also I believe they have some sort of internal skeleton (with some metal in I think); how does this compare to the Metal Material Strike Gundam?
My past experience of MSIAs is a couple of Gundam Wing figures released in the UK. Overall they're pretty good, but the joints seemed a little weak. Can I expect more from an AMSIA?

The Metal Material Strike Gundam is a whole different baby from the AdMSiA toys. The strike boasts of a titanium internal skeleton, with only MINIMAL plastic parts. in it. The AdMSiA only has die cast in the chest skeleton, no where else. The MM Strike can post very well with the armor on, while the AdMSiA will have its poseability severly diminished as soon as the armour is set, and the armour seems to have a penchant for popping off from the attachment. The MM Strike is the way to go, or in my case, I am waiting For the Sword & Launcher versions for the Metal Material Line.

From the looks on this pic the AMSIA does not have any metal parts Though as far as comparing it to the Metal Material, you can't go wrong with purchasing a Metal material strike, The heft, size and poseability is worth it. ;D

Thanks for the comments. I've actually already got the MM Strike. From what you're saying though I'm probably going to be disappointed by the AMSIAs in comparisson. I'd get the Sword and Launcher strike, but don't feel I can justify buying a second MM Strike. I'd be interested in seeing more MM Gundams in the future though. Hopefully Bandai will consider expanding the line.

I haven't bought the MM Aile Strike.
I passed on it coz I had other priorities to get. Otaru showed it to me as soon as his Strike arrived. I liked it, but don't like the Aile. Good thing Bandai is releasing the Sword & Launcher. Now those I will definitely get.
As for Bandai releasing more, I hope so. Looking forward to a MM Tallgeese III or a FAZZ myself. ;D

I'm just pissed about Bandai's tactics of making you buy two MMs to complete all the modes... One correction Omni, only the Turn A had a little bit of titanium, the Metal Material Strike has die-cast skeleton...

Welcome GDomino to the BBS I see semper Fi, are you a Marine that enjoys Gundam? -Ed Thanx for the welcome! Actually I've been lurking here for a while. Also a MW lurker who discovered this site from somebody's invite. To answer your question; I was a Marine. Funny thing is I was re-introduced to Gundam in 1996 when I was stationed in Okinawa JP and caught the tail end of Gundam W on JP TV. Could'nt (and still can't) understand a lick of Japanese but watched it anyways. Then when I got back to the States, it was being shown on CN and saw its popularity grow... Now I try to collect as much of the series as I can by buying American releases and HK boots. I'm not really into the model kits or MSIAs, just exploring the chogokin side. Well nuff bouts me. I already said too much ;D

GDomino, That makes sense . I've known a good deal of lucky people that get to see the toys ahead of time due to the service. You were lucky to get a preview on a "good thing". What HK bootlegs have to found to be good? Not many people know about them. I do know there is a Korean bootleg that is Giant. -Believe it is a RX-78 2. -E

There are several sightings of Jumbo RX-78's here in PI.
Not sure if they are theHK boots though, but the quality is pretty good. Some of them go for about +US$20 here, at least last time I checked.

20 bucks for a jumbo grade bootleg? DAMN. The bootlegs are quite nice and solid. Good detail and paint job. I also like the extra markings on it. I use it to display whereas I keep the original MIB.

BigBadToystore.com still has some MMM's in stock. There's also a sale this weekend for purchases over $75.

So the inner frame of the first series of these figures was partly made of die cast?
I understand the last series eliminated the inner frame system. So what differentiated them from regular MSIA's and GFF's?

AMSIA hadmany joind and sculpt problems. beab sabers didn't have the beam to go along with the hilt. weight problems. and they were not to scale with the anime versions.

Was all that true for both the first and second wave of figures?
