As mentioned recently in the review of the fully transforming Victory Gundam on the ToyBox DX site, Banpresto seems to be turning out some very nice Gundam toys among the sea of not so hot ones. The Victory Gundam was the first of Banpresto's impressive new Gundam figures. It featured ABS plastic and DIECAST METAL and FULLY transformed unlike any other Victory Gundam toy before it (Bandai's 1/72 and even the 1/48 scale figures). Now Banpresto has quietly begun producing the crane-catcher figures labeled "Special Creative Model" that are, according to ToyBox DX, made of injection-molded plastic and are around 1/144 in scale. The RX-78 features a removable and transforming core fighter! The RX-78 has been followed up by the RX-79 from 08th MS Team and the F-91 Gundam. Has anyone actually seen these figures? Does anyone own one?

I recently won the figures on eBay. Got the F91 and the RX-78 (original Okawara colors) figures as a set. There was a Toybox DX article on the Gundam RX-78 G3 not too long ago with pix. The one seller I'm aware of is: www.akitoys.com
