New here so I'm not sure if you guys covered this yet, but what do you guys think of the RX-78-2 Jumbo? Is it the improved version done in 1984 or was it 1987? Anyway, is it that K.A. version or is it based on the original RX-78-2 as in the AE series or KS? How is the detail? Is it worth the $100? Vinyl? Styrene? Jumbo Machinder Gundam?

From what I remember, the gundam jumbo grade is a recent creation. 2000 ish.. It is styled as a mish mash of the perfect grade rx-78 gundam and the HGUC 1/144 model kit. While the head, body, legs and arms definitely take a cue from the pg kit, the shoulders come straight from the hguc kit. I don't know the material used to make it. Worth 100$? Depends.. The details are not so good. Since it is so big, the figure is rather bland even though it does sport some panel lining and wash.

well i finally brokedown and got both the zaku [red] and the rx-78 jumbo they're both decent figures great paint job but i'm just sorry that bandai didn't put any joints on them from the waist down. i mean for the price bandai charges for it i'd at least expect torso legs, knees and feet joints along with the existing joints in the upper body. however, as far as looks and presence are concern these things are simply stunning worth the price? i just don't know if it was priced at $50 - 60 then no doubt its worth it but at $150 - $180 i can't make up my mind. so i guess the bootleg version offers better value as it is almost an exact replica of the rx-78 and its half the price of the original

I bought the bootleg version and I'm pretty impressed (it's about the same size as a three year old ). I posted a thread "Jumbo Grade Gundam Question" in this section plus theres a link to the seller I got mine from.
