I'm going to be home for about a month during the holidays, and I'd like to work on some Gundams while I'm home. The first thing I'll do is get a 1/100 Double X to replace the broken one from my G-Falcon kit. After that, though, I'd like to dabble in MG territory. The ones I'm thinking about getting are: *Gundam Spiegel. It's easy for an MG kit, and half of my family has the last name of Spiegel, so it's our family Gundam. Shame it doesn't belong to Neo Hungary... *Zeta. I've heard conflicting reports on this one. *ZZ. I love transforming Gundams. *S-Gundam. Another transformer. *Freedom. I love the design, and it's also a relatively easy build (IMO) in that it doesn't transform. *NT-1 Alex. If only because I want an NT-1 where the forearm guns aren't separate pieces. So those are the ones on the list, and the reasons for them. Any others I should look into? Are the ones I picked not good?

Ive always enjoyed doing the bigger of the MG models such as the Rick Dom (fairly big), FAZZ (big), EX-S Gundam (huge), Sazabi(very big), and even the MG Zeong (big) was fun to do (although I wish I had waited for the Perfect Zeong just for the sheer size, It must tower over the others!) As for the smaller MGs for some reason I love the Zakus. The new zakus are cool and more posable but I liked the springs in the cables of the older ones. The Spiegel would be a good choice for a smaller Gundam but also because the G-gundam MGs are very posable (and fun to build, they have rubber soles in their feet and rubber hands and an entire skeleton made of ABS held together by small nuts & bolts)

The Spiegel will prob be the easiest Mg out of that lot and most fun since its "endo skeleton" allows better posability. Plus its the family's namesake! ;D
However, if you want time's worth for your money, the bigger kits like the S and ZZ will give you hours of pleasure. Plus they transform!

NT-1 wont dissapoint, I like the mix of modern and old school it offers. All in all a very sturdy kit.

What's the word on MG Zeta? I hear it's sort of a love it or hate it deal. Is it really that floppy?

MG Zeta is quite floppy. I own one and its arms dont like to stay in place. Especially when it's holding a gun or something. But the fact that it transforms is way cool.

Would MG Gundam-S or MG ZZ be better, then? I really hate it when I can't pose my Gundams.

Personally, I'd choose the S-Gundam. Ever since I've started collecting MGs, I've always wanted an MG S-Gundam. It just looks really good. Posability wise, they should be pretty equal. It just depends on what you like better I guess.
P.S. - Ex-S Gundam comes w/ a stand, but it doesn't stand up on its own.

I thought about EX-S, but I wouldn't have the room for the transforming stand (awesome as it is), it's twice as expensive as the S, and I don't like how you have to plug it into the stand.

The S gundam MG's hip guns are conspicuously missing. I'd choose the EX-S over the S if it came down to one or the other for that reason alone, but that's just me.
