Hey everyone! I just recently bought a few 1/144 scale gundam models and am thinking of buying a perfect grade model as a project. I've been reading about some of the gripes people have had and was wondering what would be a good PG to try out. Part of me wants to start with wing zero since the 1/144 models are all GW models, but I'm open to suggestions on that.
Also, I can't tell from the instructions since they're in Japanese, but so I need glue for the 1/144s?

Try the new PG Strike, check earlier threads, it is poseable, plays like a toy, and far cheaper than most PGs out there. ;D

See "Building the PG Strike" one topic down. You don't really need glue on any of Bandai's model kits but some people glue anyway. Use a liquid cement. Model Master makes a good liquid glue. JWM

Right some people use Tamiya liquid cement for the small parts, personally I don't like use. I just build MG but HG UC are really cools (1/144).

I would advise to try and build a MG first, a PG jump from the 1/144 is pretty big. It takes the same time to build a pg foot as it takes to complete a 1/144 kit. On the other hand, it doesn't increase in difficulty, but more in parts count actually. Oh yeah , wiring a PG can sometimes be hard.

I've built models before, just not mecha. The 1/144 models are a bit simpler than I'm used to.

The great thing about Gundams is that Bandai's molds have production value that are second to none. Even their sh*ttiest designs from 10 years ago were always well-molded. That said, I too recommend building an MG before making the leap to a PG. You should get a pretty good feel for what it'll be like. I know after my share of MGs I didn't really want to build a PG after all. Good thing too since PGs are so damn expensive. ;D
But hey, since you already have experienced with model kits, you don't need me to tell you that it's all about how much effort you choose to put into the kit and not how simple the kit is. I'll be more than willing to admit that some of my 1/144s turned out crappy where others ended up looking better than some MGs, etc...
