An oppurtunity has arisen to purchase an original transformable Zeta toy made by Gakken in '85. Has anyone got any info on this toy? Are there any galleries or web-sites you can point me to? Cheers.

Is this the 1/100 scale one whose mold was later used for the Musha version?

I really don't know. What can you tell me about that one?

I believe Bandai made several 1/100 DX scale figures in the 80's from the Zeta series: RX-178 MkII, Zeta, and ZZ. I have the MKII and the ZZ, but not the Zeta. All three of these were later resurrected in the Musha Armor series with additional samurai armor (very nice attachments and weapons from an alternate Gundam universe). I think this Musha series was also from the 80's -- just later. I love my Mk II and ZZ. Wish I had the Zeta but I already have a completed MG Metal Coating version of the Zeta, and I have the HCM and recent chogokin ones. But if I saw a Musha Zeta at a great price... ![::)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/rolleye.png)

Okay, I understand what you mean by "Musha" now,, I've seen a ZZ Gundam with all this Samurai armour and was most impressed (except by it's price). I don't know if it is or not as it's loose with no accessories (except it's shield) but if it is 1/100 scale I am very interested. Do you know where I could see some pics of this "Musha" Zeta? Also, what would you consider to be a good price for one of these Zeta Musha sets? And what is the HCM like? Better or worse than the Kido Senshi?

A good condition Musha Zeta set should run you between $150-$200. Despite the deluge of Gundam stuff, these still fetch a fair price because they are rare and have not been reproduced since the 80's. The armor pieces and weapons look really nice--like the ones that come with traditional Japanese display dolls (the ones in glass cases).

That's good news coz I just picked up a MIB Musha set on Ebay (after you explained what it was) for $115. The original toy I was going to but is listed on Kaikodo.net and is a loose original version, with no accessories except the shield piece and would have cost me about $85-$90 incl. shipping, so I jumped at the chance for a boxed Musha for a little extra. Gotta give you big thanks for helping me in this one, it looks like a really sweet toy.

So you got the Zeta Musha? Great price for that one. The one thing I like about the old 80's version is that it has retractable landing gear (I believe even the Perfect Grade Zeta lacks this feature).

I have the original Z DX. It is cool for an 80's toy. The articulation is minimum. The HCM one has much more detail...it is a bit more fragile than the DX RX-178, I don't know if it is mine or all of them but the beam sabers were not included....

I've just bought a HCM one aswell. What can you tell me about them (materials they're made from etc.) and can you point me in the direction of a nice gallery or two?
