I asked this question in the FIX, MSIA, EMSiA thread:
What kind of plastic is Bandai using for the Extended MSiA line? Is it hard (ABS, styrene) or soft (PVC or PE) plastic?
The material would make the difference for me in terms of whether or not to start collecting this line. I'm not a fan of PVC, PE.
Any pix of the EMSiA Zeta available? The pix of the Gouf and RX-178 MKII make the line look worthwhile.

It's PVC. The gouf seems significantly harder than the mkIIs to me though for some reason.

Oh well. At least now I can save my money for some other line. Thanks for the reply.

Zephyranthes, if you're a fan of the gouf, you need this gouf. It just blows all other goufs out of the water. The PVC is very hard on it- the antenna for example would snap before it would bend. Can't say the same for the mkII, however, which I'm sure you'd hate.

Thanks for the additional details on this figure. I do like the apparent articulation of this thing. I have the HGUC special coating model which is decent but still can't do some of the poses that this one pulls off. Any idea where I could get one at a decent price?

Hmm, I got mine from HLJ... don't really know anywhere significantly better (I'm sure you could save a few dollars from some HK seller).
The articulation on this thing has to be seen to be believed. All around it's nearly as articulated as the absolutely ridiculously posable dom 2nd version, although its materials are much harder than the dom's. It has an awesome neck that makes possible the same kind of great neck articulation of the KS zakus, but via a simpler method. The heat sabre is hard clear orange plastic and has light orange paint shadows applied to it that make it look much better in the light than an entirely clear blade would. It comes with machine gun hands and normals sets of hands for both arms, so you can do some rarely seen variants of the gouf from the TV show, like with 2 machinegun hands or no machinegun hands.
The articulation is all around drastically better than the MG, let alone the HGUC. Comes with a bunch of different heat rod pieces too, to make it into different shapes. The overall appearance is much more accurate to the lineart than the MG or the HGUC.
Anyway, I love it. I've got 2 and I've been considering going for a third! This kind of quality for 1800 yen just makes the fixes seem like crap to me in comparison. But I stress again that the mkII, while a pretty good MIA, is not even in the same class as the Gouf.

I picked up the Gouf as well, but don't plan on getting any more from this series. I'm a bit tired of the old suits and re-hash, regardless of version, etc....
The Gouf is very nice. Great paint and flexibility.

That's understandable thesoz. No matter how nice the toy, if you're not interested in the character it won't do much for you. It's like that for me with the tetsujin 28 soc.

I'm beginning to feel the same way about the old suits (especially the RX-78 and Zakus) getting re-hashed repeatedly--bored. That's why I'm looking into the new Seed figures although many of those seem to be variations on mecha seen in Gundam X and Gundam W.
I don't have a whole lot of Gouf's so I think I'll try to get a hold of this EMSiA version. Thanks so much for the input; it helped.

man, that thing looks almost exactly the same as the msia 2nd version. All I can see different is the paint and the face.

The gouf is the best gouf EVAR!!! LOL LOL LOL LOL OMGWTFROFLMAOBBQ!
Seriously though, the toy is incredibly good...insanely poseable, well-painted, and has a damn fine sculpt.
