Never modelled but i saw a Pg strike for only 10,000 yen couldn't help myself. I'm Deciding to spray paint it but i've never even touched paint before and i'm the crappiest artist i've ever seen, practically still drawin stick ppl. Hoping to get sum pointers like, how many layers should i apply. And how many layers of outline you apply, my marker is a bit purplish, its one of those thin gundam markers. So many ppl here seem to be builidng PGS, how'd you guys figure out the color guide i mean theres so many of the same colors, 3 blacks 2 whites =/. Alright can't wait to start once i finish gettting my supplies.

From what I hear, and have seen, the PG strike looks really good even without paint. I would suggest just panel lining it, given the artistic ability you just described. It's pretty hard to screw up panel lining. I would be hesitant to learn how to paint on a perfect grade, seeing as they're so exspensive. I would try out painting on a cheap little 1/44 scale or something first, then if it turns out well, going over to the perfect grade. You'll find that you will learn what works well and what does not, and by learning from your mistakes, you should be able to do a better job on your next project. That's why its probably not a good idea to learn how to paint on a PG. I mean, if you screw up your perfect grade, you'd be really upset, but if you screw up a little 1/144, big deal, you're out $10.

I agree with Foresight42 :-) I'm a newbie myself, I started experimenting on the strike and the result was mediocre, so I just "erased" my mistakes and left the thing unpainted, just with panel lines. I'm getting a HG and two MG, I'll see if I can try things on the HG, and maybe, if that goes well, I can build better MG and, I could even erase the strike's panel lines and re-paint it... yes, it's possible to erase panel lines, I've done them with a permanent marker, and with some alcohol and a lot of cotton you can totally erase them, just like they were never there! :-) the alcohol doesn't seem to damage the parts at all. This method is also useful for removing some kinds of clear coating (water-based ones). So I'd advise, panel line the strike, buy a HG, experiment.. and if you want to, you can return to the strike later :-) Just my inexperienced opinion ![;)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/wink.png) Btw, where did you get the Strike at that price? I got mine for like U$S 105 or so (plus shipping) at ebay....

Ya i got a HG sword impulse but i find it kinda hard to outline, its too small, might be my pen. Still waiting to get paint, mite practice it also on a MG, wing zero or freedom, love those angels wings. Or i might get a 1/60 strike jus for the equipment, i heard u can modify the connectors to be able to put on the equipment. Dunno about waiting 2 long months for PG sky grasper as it looks like it jus comes wit Aile pack and i'm guessin it'll be like the same price as a PG? I jus have to paint it, i like things being perfect altho i usually mess up. And i got my PG in japan, went there for spring break. God i shoulda bought way more stuff, regret it so bad, shoulda got a mp3 and gundam spree. MGs were only liek 3,000 yen each, too bad Wing zero PG was sold out. Wasn't tat addicted to models then so ya but now i'm start to obssess over it heh. Gonna be broke soon, everything here is so pricy.
