Would anyone tell me if your gundams are collected according to any particular series in term of model scale (eg. PG, MG, HG, GFF, MMM (GQ), HC Pro, etc) or their animation (eg. UC, FC, AW, CE, etc) series? As for my case, My collections are more on GFF and MMM(GQ) models series. Eventually, I may be into Cosmic Region series. In another words, I only collect figures which come with high quality, detailed panel lines and good articulations. Besides, the most expensive models that I bought so far are Metal and Jumbo Grades of RX-78-2.

Hi there GLaw,
Honestly, I started out collecting with the mindset of getting every single gundam model ever released by bandai. But, after seeing how many they release, its impossible. So, I am trying to get every single Perfect Grade and Master Grade, limited editions included. Hopefully once I get those, I will work my way down to 1/60 HG's, than 1/100 HG's, than 1/144 HG's, and so on. Thats just me though. =]

Hi, Qball99
Thanks for your sharing. I'd used to have similar mindset like yours of collecting all gundams. Yeah, it's impossible. I wish I could collect MG or PG series but just don't have time to assemble or paint them. I know making a nice and beautiful model requires quite a substantial amount of time and effort. Probably I have just been lazy. Therefore, I choose to collect the completely painted and assembled models like GFF, MMM (GQ) and CE series.

Heh heh... boy this topic brings me back.
I've known of Gundam since as long as I can remember (me being a son of an immigrant family) - didn't grow up on it but to me it was like this indistint icon from a mysterious land I knew nothing about.
On a trip to HK when I was in my teens I finally had the chance to buy a bunch of Gundam kits. I loved them and later when anime finally became popular here I started collecting imported MG kits.
But I was pretty realistic - knowing that Gundam was a long-running franchise, I had to pick the particular Gundams I was familiar with from the UC universe.
And when the little 5-inchers came out here I collected the 5 Endless Waltz Gundams and a few others.
Strictly speaking though, I don't actually collect particular lines. Usually I go with whatever looks neat... like a theme or something. My last Gundam toy was a DX Shining Gundam. I just thought he'd look cool standing with my DX Wing Gundam - no other reason. ;D

Honestly speaking, the arch enemies series nearly became one of my collections but sad to hear that Bandai has discontinued producing gundams (including this series I suppose) for U.S. market. Sigh..
I hope MMM(GQ) will not face the same ending story like arch enemies series.

Quality of construction and materials and gimmicks. I began collecting Gundams in the early 80's not too long after the original series aired. My first Gundam was the Clover DX Gundam. I loved it for all the gimmicks and the solid construction with plenty of diecast. That's part of the reason I like the MMM series. It reminds me of the good old days when toys were not made of such cheap floppy materials as PVC. Sure PVC is nice for young kids who throw their toys or frequently drop them or mangle them. But we adults IMO spend good money on this stuff for a reason. For the toys I like playability too but I think playability can still be achieved with better materials--diecast and ABS plastic. ![:)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/smiley.png)

I'm just starting on this, but I've decided to first get all PGs (save those rare expensive versions, and only 1 PG of its kind (ie no red zaku and no titans MKII). After I gat the PGs, I'll aim for those MGs I like most... I won't be buying HGs or 1/144s any time soon.. I like big things! :-) I also love building these kits, so for me the more complicated the build, the better...

I also love building these kits, so for me the more complicated the build, the better... Wait 'till you get your hands on the Zeta. That's more fun than any sane person needs to have. ![;)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/wink.png) I go by the design. That's why I haven't bought the Titans- It's too much like the original RX78/2. I don't want a zillion different versions of the same mecha. And for some odd reason I don't care for the 1/100 scale. I like the 1/60, and the 1/144. And I don't care for silly designs like the Wing Zero custom, or the the junk from G-Gundam (even though I have the WZC in PG and 1/144). I like the hard military look of the UC. machines. JWM
