Before I buy my first model kit is there anything I need to know? Which size or grade is worth buying; 1/144 or 1/100? What's difference between 1/100 HG and 1/100 MG? Is there anything I should buy before buying model kits like markers or something? Is there any sites that has steps 1st is painting or something and other steps is assembly them together. And what's some website that sell kit online? Thanks.

it's your personal decision, but if your a begginner you should go for the HG. it's smaller and simpler than a MG. MG's have over hundreds of parts while HG's have around 50 part. tall one= MG short one= HG 211.233.38.221/dalong/hg/h21/h21_12.jpghg's are usually 12cm tall while mg's are 17cm tall HG's have less detail and less panel's than MG's. MG's has an internal skeleton, more weapons, better range of movement, and more panels that HG's. .store: HLJ.com

Do you have draw panel and painted if I want to make it look like more detailed? If so, is it same as every other grades, HG, MG and PG?

yes you have to fill in the panels if you want them, those pictures is what they look like un painted. you can paint the if you want to make it look better. Hg's usually need the most paint, MG's and PG's don't really need that much, that is unless you choose to paint the entire model

Ehem. Let me tell you what grades and sizes are all about. High Grade(HG). It's movement will be able to mimic those Gundam you see on tv once completed. Some parts may not be mould to the correct colour so lots of paint is needed to correct them or you can use the stickers they provide. HG can come in 1/144, 1/100 or 1/60 Master Grade(MG). Truly a nice piece of work as the Gundam has a skeleton within those clip-on armor, unlike hg which is just the whole gundam without a fancy skeleton. MG has more gimmick then hg and can mimic more movements seen on tv and most of the parts are molded to the right colour. They even have accessible cockpits for you to see. MG ALWAYS comes in 1/100 for gundams. Perfect Grade(PG) a bigger version of the MG. Really massive and now even the head now is a skull with clip on armor(with lighting-up eyes too)(mg head is almost like hg head). You can strip the whole gundam down to it's skeleton, put it in the dark and have fun with the electronics and play with the poseble thumb too . PG comes in 1/60 for gundam. Only few models are made into PG. So far theres 13. Sizes. 1/144 size is small. 12cm tall. Lots of gundam comes in this sizes. Compact if you want to save space and want lots of gundams. Universal Century High Grade(UCHG) are all in 1/144. Lots of models from other serires are also made into 1/144 Such as G,W,X,SEED,SEED destiny. 1/100 is usually 17 cm tall. It's as big as a fully outstretch adult hand. Moderately alot of figures come in this size too. Some Gundam G,W,X, and mostly SEED,SEED Destiny. It takes some space but still okay if your space is limited and wants lots of gundam at the same time. I myself prefer 1/100 cost it's easier to play around with(cause 1/144 is too small for my hands) 1/60 is plain big. If you know what a megazord is, it's around that height. It takes ups lots of space and cost a bundle. For painting, even if a model is mould to colour, you can still paint it cause every models have that plastic look and some people paint them to make it look metallic. Panel linings also requires......lining itself and all sizes will have to get their panels lined nicely to give that nice looking effect. i dunno what else to type down in short notice so i'll add more if anything else comes into mind.

Paints used are usually acrylic paints and you can buy them at modelling shops or some bookstore if you're lucky. Panels can be done in many ways but the easiest would be to use those fine tip gundam markers. Also known as panel markers to some. It's up to you to paint it before or after assembly but most people do it after. You can visit this site s9.invisionfree.com/Penetrate/index.php?s=f8c280c184ca49f5aabc5941313ac3e4&act=idx for more information about modelling from more experience modellers.

Theres PLENTY of places to get these kits. The first place I ever look is eBay, as I can usually get a good deal. A perfect example is the HGUC 1/144th Dom Tropen that I just bought for 5.99. Plus shipping its still less than the 18.00 I would've paid for it at an online store. Heres some links to stores I often go to when eBay doesn't have what I need: Gundam Store and More www.gundamstoreandmore.comImage Anime www.imageanime.comToy-wave www.toy-wave.comTISINC 99 www.tisinc99.com/gundam3.htmlBig Bad Toy Store www.bigbadtoystore.comThose should get you started. Also, I've found one of the easiest ways to compare prices between online stores is to do a "Froogle" search with Google. Go to Google and select "Froogle" when you go to search. It'll bring up the kit you're looking for with the link and the price on it. Its a great way to shop smart. Also, if you're looking at a kit and want to know what its like, this link will take you to some reviews done by the forum "Does_it_matter" just linked you to. Theres lots of HGUC reviews (1/144th) in there that can be very helpful. s9.invisionfree.com/Penetrate/index.php?c=14Hope this helps!

Oh God PLEASE do not be one of those people who paints their entire Gundam with Markers! Real paints have been created, go to a hobby shop, buy them, they work great. As for the Markers, sharpies generally leave a purple-ish hue behind. Avoid them.
If you really want to panel line, the thin Black Gundam marker is the way to go.
