I just received the HCM Pro RX-178 Mk II Complete Set in the mail from HLJ. It's fantastic. I'm sure glad I waited for this set. Starting out with the RX-178 itself: It has terrific details like markings underneath a removable chest plate and moving pistons for the feet. Next the G-Defenser: It has a detachable pod with opening cockpit, opening missile racks, folding wings, and transformation to a weapons-laden backpack for the RX-178. It's a thing of beauty and real feat of engineering considering its small size. But in the tradition of an infomercial, there's MORE. You also get a the flying armor which is basically a sled (surfboard, snowboard) for terrestrial use (seen skimming over water in the series). AND you get a bounty of weapons including a beam rifle and a large beam cannon WITHOUT the floppiness found with GFF PVC, and the vulcan headset. Can there be even more? YES. You also get a large display stand to hold all the figures and vehicles for the set. I think Bandai did outstanding work with this set. It goes well with my HCM Pro Asshimar. ;D

The HCM figures have had my eye for some time. I am just about to box up my PG models, and DXMSIA pieces so I can open up shelf space for other stuff. I'd like to keep the whole fleet from Mobile Suit Gundam on display though. Those little bitty figures would be just the thing. \ By the way, Zephyranthes, do you have a picture yet?

Here's the link for the pix on HLJ: www.hlj.com/product/BAN934081The great thing about this line is the high quality at a size that won't so quickly eat up shelf space. I've become such a fan of this series that I just bought several more of the HCM Pro figures. Living here in N. CA where space is at a real EXPENSIVE premium, I don't mind collectibles that aren't so darn big as the 1/60 scale stuff (though I love the big Gundam stuff I've already got).

I'm hoping for a MA Gaplant and Messala. More transformable mobile armors would definitely make me happy. I'm glad Bandai is branching out a bit more and making figures of different mecha from the UC timeline--like the Asshimar and Nemo. I'm getting a bit tired of the same old RX-78 getting rehashed over and over again.

The HCM pro line looks ggod, I mean the Promotional and box cover pictures look amazing, up until I saw them in real life. I saw a Hyakushiki at a local hobby shop and was really dissapointed. First, it was the size, not really that big, a bit bigger than the Fusion Works line. But like the Fusion Works, the colors bleed from on part to the other. Paint job is just terrible, like on the Gundam Fix Figuration line. I mean, I don't expect perfect paint jobs on 20-25$ figure but at least make it look like the box art and the promotional pictures. I was tempted on getting this HCM RX-178 MK-II pro set but its hard to pay 50+ on something that isn't on par with the pictures on the box

I didn't get the Hyakushiki either. I already have the beautiful Hyakushiki chogokin. It's hard to top that version. However, the HCM Pro RX-178 MK II Complete set that I got is darn near perfect. No paint problems like I've seen with some of my other (earlier) HCM Pros. I have several RX-178's inc. an old 1/100 scale figure from the 80's. THe HCM Pro version is outstanding mainly because of the accessories in this complete set. By the way, I paid less than $40 (that includes shipping) for this.

quick question. i haven't had a chance to actually see these HCM figures in person yet and the hlj site lists the sizing as 1/200. does it end up looking goofy when you display them with other figures from other lines, like the fix figuration ones?

Despite the diminutive size, HCM Pro figures do look great. I just pre-ordered the Hamrabi. I love the transforming ones from Zeta.

hmm ... i was hoping for negative responses so that i wouldn't have to consider buying it. dang. was thinking of concentrating more on the fix figuration line but this one simply looks too good. guess i'll wait to see if i can get one for a good price.
in the states are we just stuck paying japanese retail ++ for everything imported that we want to buy?

You seem to have added additional markings/decals to the HCM Pros. Where'd you get them? What are your thoughts on the Nemo & Hyaku-shiki HCM Pros. I don't have those yet.

hi i get the decals from various kits, sometimes from Master Grade kits or from resin kits, I usually have a ton of left over ones so i hold on to them just in case for stuff like this. I love the nemo it is one of the best Hcm-pros out there and highly recommend it. The Shiki is nice to it is not my favorite of the set (neither is the Force Impulse) but the Shiki is passable, the details and stuff are very good, maybe if it has the mega launcher or the gold plating i might like it better. it will probably look alot better along side the Zeta Gundam when it comes out

it really looks like they are the little brothers of the gff. but as someone before suggested, they really look good in terms of a tiered display, where you have the HCMs in front.
the MKII set only comes with one figure right? the picture on HLJ has two, but i noticed that you have the hyakushiki there instead.

yea it only comes with 1 Mk II they just let you know that the normal one can be used as well if you bought it seperatly when it first came out. i decided to put the Shiki so i would not have a empty display stand. i cannot wait to get the Zeta one i will put all 3 side by side, i hope that one comes with a stand as well.
