THX to eyesonme78 for the SCOPEDA! I'm not 100% sure if it's Yamato but this has their handiwork ALL over it. If this sells well (which I'm sure they probably will) we COULD get the Spartan, Defender, and Phalanx. MAYBE this could pave the way for the 1/60 Monster that was seen so long ago (in a galaxy far away).

:DWow!!! Thanks for the scoop, pinoy78! At this point I don't even CARE who's doing the Destroids as long as SOMEONE is!! I think there's a pretty good chance of them making the Defender and Phalanx, too. Those two have practically the same torsos so if they make one then the other won't cost a whole lot more to do next.
I also noticed the 1/48 VF-1S in the right corner. I'm thinking it might be a static model because the panel lines don't look as deep. Or maybe it's a re-tooled and weathered update of their regular line? Still hard to tell from the pic.
But awesome news on the Destroid!!

Since this is a non-variable toy, it looks a lot more solid than the VF's. But then again, this is Yamato we're talking about, they should make this thing bilt like the 1/60 Queadluun Rau (kinda like a Tonka Truck, without the diecast). Hopefully, there won't be anything wrong with it even on the first prod run... then again, it's by Yamato so....

I want! This really takes me back to the days when Transformers, Battletech, and Robotech were all ripping each other off (the most famous incident being that FASA games included a miniature pewter-model playing piece of the Battloid in their boxed set of Battletech). I can't remember if there were any other "Battlemechs" in that game that were also taken from Macross. I just remember that when I finally got around to seeing Robotech (and Macross, honestly I can remember anymore which I saw first), I laughed at how much more in common the Battlemechs had with the Macross mecha than I previously thought. Needless to say, I fell in love with the Destroids right away.
And yeah, the Q-Rau was a great piece and Yamato can do big jumbo-like non-transforming plastic toys just fine, if you ask me.

Oh crap! I'm hating Yamato just about now... coz if the sales for these Destroids do well, we might just be seeing the 1/60 HW-MK II Destroid Monster in the horizon! ...and resistance will be futile!

Once they make the Phalanx and Spartan then we'll amass an army ^_^

Approx. $100 USD for a non-transforming plastic figure before shipping. Seems a bit steep. Looks nice though.

actually the headlamp looks like it could be a working one.... now that would be uber-cool. does anyone know if it will be a working gimmick on the tomahawk?

Don't believe so. The gimmicks are limited to the various opening hatches and cockpit.

What? No spring loaded projectiles that shoot out and poke someone's eyes off?
