No, they are still plastic, but extremely detailed and great paint. The size is about the same as MSIA.

...*face faults*
anyway, MSIA (Mobile Suit in Action) are the mecha of MSG in action figure form.

MSIA stands for "Mobile Suit In Action" which is like the standard Gundam toy line of figures. Usually cost around $20 or less and are made of plastic, but still a good durable action figure with good articulation. Size is roughly four inches or thereabouts.
FIX figures are basically action figures (meaning plastic only) but with a higher grade of plastic and better finish. Usually they feature special or somewhat obscure Gundams and cost anywhere from $35 to $90.

OOOHHH, alright I have a couple of those MSIA, GPO2A and one other whose name escapes me. Yeah I asked about the FIX line cause I saw some of them thinking 144 scale and 40 d**n dollars!? But then I saw they had that sweet Wing ver. ka and GPO2A(which is my favorite gundam design) so I was wondering are they worth it?

Gundam Fix Figuration are very detailed, nice finish (matt), full of accessories, and a lot of gimmicks to take care of!
This GFFs are very expensive compare to MSIAs. They are almost the same price of (some) Master Grades too. Designed and produced by Hajime Katoki. Also, GFFs are made of PVCs, and ABS. Though some of the MSIAs are made of the same plastics, GFFs are high quality figures.
Though some of the GFFs are not meant for playing. They are very nice for display. Now, they are releasing posable GFFs. The transforming GFFs like the Zeta/Zeta Plus has flaws (floppy design), some have loose joints and messed paints though you can fix it. Some of the face were badly molded so its better to check the face if you have a lot to choose from. This figures are really worth buying to Gundam Fans. At least if you're not a gundam fan, try to get the DEEPSTRIKER. ;D

The GP02A Physalis is really worth it, IF the BFS will not bother you. You know the shield is very huge and heavy! But the design, details are really outstanding. Plus you will get the never before seen Beam Bazooka! About the Wing Ver Ka, it is also a must buy! It can simply transform to bird mode.

Yeah the Deepstriker is a killer figure. I was really surprised at how solid the whole thing stays together.
One I wouldn't recommend is the FAZZ. The armor pops of easily and the gun only points at the ground. It's a bummer because it's a nice looking figure otherwise.
I was really happy with the Gerbera. It's a funky armor design, but one of my favorites.

I love the look of these GFF's, but I think they are WAY overpriced. Which is why I only have a grand total of one (1) GFF: Deepstriker!

I personally think although it is an old GFF figure, it is still the best GFF figure in term of poseability.

That may have been true in March of 2006 (last time someone posted on this) but GFF have significantly gotten better articulation and poseability.
I think the only leg the Wing Ver Ka has up on others is its double jointed elbows... but those are designs a little too long for my taste... they seem stretched too long.

God Gundam is the best articulated figure in GFF series.
