This is the second time this has happened to me. I came in this morning and the PG Strike Gundam was face down on the shelf. At least it wasn't on the floor like the last time. I had it in an action pose- both knees bent- leaning slightly forward, but not off balance- feet at not quite 90 degree stance. No evidence that my sneaky cat was trying to get on the shelf- No one bumped the cabinet, or the Evas and the little Gaiking from GX 05 would have tipped over. I suspect sagging ankle joints, but I'm not sure. Maybe evil spirits? Anyone else have this happen? JWM

Either...
1. Your stirke doesn't like standing in one pose
2. It is tired of standing
3. It thinks it has the aile pack and is trying to fly away

Naa, i can't tell you how annoyed i was with my 78-2's balance issues. Just make sure it's not in a wide open space where it would just fall like *snap*. try to lean it on something or get somthing to give it some extra support. BTW, DO you have the aile pack?

No, I don't have the aile pack, although I may still get it. I got so tired of the other PG's doing this kind of stuff that I just boxed them up. The only one I kept on display was the Strike, and now the Strike has flopped twice. I put it in a kneeling pose for now. Maybe that'll teach it some humility.

If you get the Aile pack the stand that comes along with it will prevent any more mishaps.

I too vote for the aile pack -- believe me, after getting it, it's like a whole different toy~~~ I mean model kit hehehe :-P It's not too expensive either and it's a fast build. And having the Strike secturely pose in a stand is very nice... not to mention the aile looks great :-)

JWM jwm: this reminded me of MPC convoy. the only pose he can do is standing (well aside from truck mode). and you must find his center of gravity first in order for him not to fall down. same with soc combattler, dancougar, and zambot 3. the articulation is there, the potential of doing many action poses for display is possible. but the center of gravity, the size and weight of the figure would matter. in the end, the final pose would be standing, arms extended with weapons makes sense why it is needed to have both PG and MG, the latter can do more action poses. and lately with the redesigns, as articulated as the PGs. but detail wise, PG still rules.

I've had my convoy in a pretty funky pose since I got him, he's never fallen. I agree with you on those SOCs though Manny, except Combattler and Zanbot are too limited to do much anyway. Dancougar has more articulation, but due to the funky weight and scratching of the paint on the bottom of the feet, the only articulation you can really take advantage of is being able to point the feet outwards and the arm/shoulder articulation.

The solution I believe would be ratcheting joints... Binaltech Meister has them, and I can make him even stand on one leg without falling ;-) Ratcheting joints for PGs would be ideal... as would more diecast. And since we're at it, why not have more electronics (motors!), and stands (like the MG Strike or MG Zeta 2.0)... and, and... and... :-P

The joints on the PG kits really do need a redesign. It's a shame that all that incredible engineering of moving parts and detail in the inner skeleton is spoiled by having finished products that just won't function as toys. They need metal content in the legs for weight and balance. They need ratchet joints all around. They need armor that can be removed and replaced without breaking tiny delicate tabs. eh- Dream on.

I don't think we're going to see ratchet joints on Bandai's models any time soon. Ratchet joints limit the range of possible articulation, and most people would reject that. They also scream "toy" and many buyers of model kits don't like to think they're buying toys. For kits as heavy as PGs though, it would be nice for you to be able to tighten the joints like with the HY2M Rick Dom at least.

True, ratcheting joints "lock" the toy~~~er model in a pose, but seriously hinder its flexibility. I'll take ratcheting knees and hips though. Transparent armor parts would also be nice (like the first two PG kits). :-)
Ok, this is turning into the PG features wish list, so I'll stop now, sorry ^_^;

i totally agree with you bleen, 100%. ratcheting joints would greatly improved the PGs stability to support more action poses. a welcomed plus factor indeed. yeah!!! diecast armor would be great too, that would be the day bro. the ultimate gundam experience hehe. pre painted diecast armor with factory applied markings. whoohoo!!! who knows hehe, maybe this is already in bandai's drawing boards. dream on bro, i will dream with you!!!
