Do you think that Bandai will start another line of toys "Metal Fix 1/100" or it will be only this one, like a limited special edition?

I just hope the diecast is taken into consideration during the design phase for this toy. For example, I'd be pissed if the forearms are diecast and the elbow and/or shoulder joint doesn't ratchet. Diecast is cool, but sagging diecast is not. I'm a little concerned about things like this because even on the plastic FIX figures, joint durability was hit-or-miss for this line.

@manny: You're very welcome bro!! I have high expectation of this Gundam too!! nakajo: I hope it's not the ONLY metal edition FIX, but I hope it won't issued as frequently as the regular FIX, cause the price is kinda high.

At 1/100 scale just how big will this figure be? Plus I'm surprised that there is'nt a RX-78-2 SOC since it definately desearves to be in that line.

For $100-125, it should feature a transforming core fighter or other such gimmicks. If Bandai/Banpresto can get this to work beautifully with the Special Creative Models, it should be able to do this with a bigger and more expensive figure.

All they need to do is use the mold of the RX-78 Arch enemy line tweek it a bit mold some parts in die-cast and they're set. This is certainly a better alternative to the Gundam Metal Grade of the same scale

Maybe they mean that it will be metal combined with the usual ABS / PVC plastic. It could also mean that Metal Composite is ChoGoKin (Special alloy). I think they're the same meaning, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

There was a Metal Grade LINE? Wasn't there just the one (1) toy? ;D Are we talking about the Metal Material Model (1/100 scale) ?! If we are, I think there are several releases, if I remember right: 1. The first one was released under "New Material" model, the Turn A Gundam 2. The MMM Aile Strike Gundam 3. The MMM Sword Strike and Launcher Strike Gundam (Deactive phase mode set). 4. The MMM Sword Strike and Launcher Strike Gundam (Special Clear Color). 5. The MMM Gundam Quality Force Impulse Gundam 6. The MMM GQ Sword Impulse Gundam 7. The MMM GQ Blast Impulse Gundam. I think that covers all of it. Of course there were previous releases of metal Gundams, like the RX-78-2, Regular and Char's Zaku, GM, and the Kahen Senshi Z Gundam, ZZ Gundam, and Hyaku Shiki (1/144 scale) if my memory serves me correctly, but then I could be wrong...

This RX-78 scaled @ 1/100 Metal Grade is PURE bare white metal, no paint whatsoever with only its joints and hands as plastics [one of its weaknesses]. Its a beautiful piece though

The Metal Grade does come with a set of metal hands. Just checked mine and you're right the close fists are metal cool. Well you learn something everyday ;D Thanks man, I barely touch mine as I'm afraid of doing more damage to the slightly cracked forearm socket right out of the box.

hey guys, is the 'New Material Model' Turn-A Gundam (diecast) really 1/100? there is no scale indication written on the box and brochure. i got one today for $20, and i wud love it if it is. a companion piece for my upcoming 1/100 RX-78-2 and the MMM Strike and Impulse Gundams, do they have any diecast in their armor? and if i will only get one each of Strike and Impulse Gundam, which version is best? TIA

TIA Hi Manny, Yes, the Turn A Gundam is scaled at 1/100, be careful of the shoulder pads though as its prone to breaking, one of mine actually has a crack on it already. Out of all the MMM including the impulse versions, I believe the best is the Striker Gundam. Although, I think you’ll like both the launcher & striker gundam more than the impulse, as its whole endoskeleton is made of metal. Although I did have a problem with mine, after I had it up on display for about a year stains on the metal started appearing so I soaked the whole endoskeleton in WD-40 and it worked. Try to get the Limited edition MMM with clear armor it really looks amazing and I’m sorry I passed on it previously and am on the hunt for 1 at a reasonable price. The impulse set have minimal die-cast, as far as I remember the only metal parts are the feet & arm joints however, it doesn’t take away from the toy what with its removable core fighter and weapon sets. Very cool solid 1/100 gundam toys J
Here’s my old blurry pic of the set together:
