i have read that if you dont apply topcaot on your gold plated akatsuki, it will result to oxidation or rusting... i have bought the 1/100 akatsuki.. can someone help me on some questions: 1. wat topcoat to use? gloss? semi-gloss or matt? 2. if i use that coat, will it not reduce the luster of the plate? 3. if i dont use coating and simple put the model on a glass cabinet, will it still oxidize?

Hello, to answer your questions: 1. Since Akatsuki is shiny, the only option is the Glossy topcoat. 2. It will look of course, glossy. 3. Im not sure about this one, but the plated plastic were designed for long term. I guess eventhough you don't topcoat it, it won't peel off the gold-plated parts. Unless you put it beside iso alcohol or any detergent liquids, say goodbye to the gold plated. Hope this help. If you want to topcoat it, get Mr. Color Gloss topcoat, Super Glossy, or Future Floor wax (Airbrushing is the best than spraying cans). vic01
