Hey Guys, I just got this in, and I expected it to be like the collectors series version, but it doesn't seem to be. The white parts and wings have more of a pearlish finish. And the remainder of the figure has a plastic shine. Is this different than the Collectors Version? Can anyone give me insight into this version, and what the difference is? Doesn't the collectors version have a matte finish? Any help would be great. I can take better pics if need be. Let me know. Thanks! Qball

I have the collectors edition... I haven't seen both versions though, the collectors might be of a higher quality although I wouldn't classify it as pearl...

Nice! I've always wanted to get one, whether a collectors or the regular edition. Where did you get it?

Never seen this packaging before. How about a review? Hopefully with lots of clear pics!

Hi Guys, I will try to take better pics when I have time, but here it is, simply out of the box. I don't think its a special edition, and unfortunately you can't see the, what i call "pearlized" effect on the wings and white sections. For a quick review, it is a pretty heavy peice with many screws attaching the main body. It is pretty back heavy because of the backpack and wings, however i think it will do well with poses. Mostly plastic other than the screws. It has the following imprinted on its lower back. "SA-S Bandai 2002 Made in China" Overall a pretty nice peice to go with my other large DX figures. Feel free to share if you know more about this item. Thanks guys, Qball

Well, considering that there's Korean written all over the packaging, I think it's safe to assume this was an exclusive for the South Korean market.

from your pic the immediate difference I can spot is yours isn't "wheathered" and the paint job is a bit more glossy. In fact, I might even go so far as to say the legs and most of the white areas look molded in white as opposed to painted. Is it painted?
Aside from that it looks to be identical to my regular version

LurkerX,
You are correct. If i remember correctly from last night, thre is very little paint on the item. I believe the shoulders and some of the blue parts, and the white on the should pieces are the only parts that are painted, and its with a glossy paint.
Most of the white is all mold. But the white is not a flat white plastic like the DX Nu and Wing Gundams. I would compare it to semi-glitter lip gloss that girls wear =X.

Shiny! ;D
The one I had was flat-matte, and weathered. I haven't seen this variant before, but would look good with some paneling and weathering.

Actually had I seen both versions at the same time when I was puchasing mine I'd be more inclined to choose this version as it fits better with the rest of the DX line as its got more a more "toy-ish" look which is what I'm aiming for. Of course since its molded as opposed to painted there may be some "yellowing" issues that may arise in the future. Nonetheless, Great find Qball99 may I ask how much it set you back?

Nonetheless, Great find Qball99 may I ask how much it set you back? Not a problem bro. I don't know if it was a good price or not, but I got it for $70 bucks shipped. What do you think? Qball

Not bad, considering the Collector's version is OOP.

Qball Sounds like an excellent deal to me. You'd be hard pressed to find a DX wing zero in that condition for that price nowadays

What does OPP stand for? LOL Oh i think he said OOP. Out of production?

OOP means "Out of Print" or "Out of Production."
OPP means "Other People's People," and I am dating myself by making reference to that song from many, many years ago. C'mon, I'm sure there are PLENTY of folks who remember that song from the early 1990's.
