Hello, I havent done a trade before. What are the rules. Does the person Who asked for a trade ships first. Or the one that looks up and replies to the trade ships first. Or do they both ship at the same time. and whats to keep the other half from not shipping if its not done in ebay. Would it be safe if both parties agree to mention their trade not in pm land so and in the actual message board so there are so called witnesses..

I think if you solicit a trade, you can name your terms regarding how you would like to conduct the trade. You could stipulate that if the person is unknown to you, that they provide some references, and perhaps chat briefly on the phone with them. If your trade involves an expensive/rare item, it might be worth the extra postage to appoint a neutral 'escro' person (whom you both trust) from the forum. Like an escro service, this neutral person would receive both items, confirm the contents/condition, and only then complete the trade by forwarding both parcels on to each of you.
