Hi - anyone out there got an SOC Daiku - coloured or black (colour preferably) that they want to offload? This is for my 7YO son (I'll make sure he doesn't poke his eyes out with it ), so no profiteers please! It needs to be complete, but there's no sweat if it's not boxed. Now, of course, if there's anyone who has a Popy GA version, then dad's paying, and we're into a different ballgame....! Anyway, LMK what you have - it'd be nice to get it by Christmas.

Hi and welcome to the BBS ;D
How far off are the prices on e-bay? I consider the prices to be the cheapest there.....since it is relatively new.

You're probably right - but because he wants one to play with, I didn't necessarily want an unopened minter - and I figured someone might want to offload one they'd got bored with without going through ebay.
I saw a black one for $99BIN, which will do, but you know, just wanted to avoid ebay for once!

That makes sense. I don't have an extra but maybe other members can help.
Why don't you consider a Boss Borot robot first? I would recommend it over the pointy and fragile Daik. M. .

I would - but being only 7, he knows what he wants...
He likes my big Gaiking vinyl, and he's heavily influenced by my Ark Gomola - which, of course, looks like a sort of Space-Dragon.
And at his age, I want to encourage anything that I consider to be healthy (Robots, Motorcycles, Hot Rods, Football, etc...). When I showed him a picture of that goofy Daiku, he fell for it immediately, so who am I to argue?
He likes the Mazinger SOC, so there's a possibility there...

I would go with the Maz and take time to search out the DaikM. It just is too heavy and clumsy (and pointy) for his age. Find one and REALLY suprise him for next Holiday season.

aha - I'll check it out. Mind you, it's after Christmas, but then it's pre his birthday.
Perhaps that's it - a Maznger now, and a daiku for christmas...
His collection's getting better than mine!

Are you a long time collector of vintage robots? Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome...
Yeah, I've been playing with robots for way too many years, but I guess it's only relatively recently (in the last 5 years) that it's got obsessively serious. At 41, and with 3 kids, the trick is keeping them out of reach!
Hence the son's interest....
If I could work out how to I'd post a coupla pix. I've not got anything amazing, but there's some good Diaclones, a few Arklons, and more TFs than I care to count!
Whoops. Better get back to work....
