actually, amazon has been selling SOCs for awhile now. Even bbts sells their stuff on amazon every now and then. Other notable amazon sellers include tisinc, hohotoys, animetruck, and anime king.

really? i didn't realize that either . I'm not up to date on the current show being broadcast now I was wondering when Great Mzazinger Boss Borot and the rest of the gang have new SOC figures based on their cuurent incarnations. yeah in know everybody has enough Maz figures but I still want more.

I'm also a Maz fan... but for now, I don't wanna jump the fence after any new reincarnated Mazinger versions. I like the new look and all- especially the jumbo version.
I wonder how this GX-45 would stand against my GX-01R? Perhaps only different in armor appearance; while the same features and accessories can probably be shared the same way as if GX-01R were using the GX-02's (Great Mazinger) accessories.
I hope Bandai doesn't decide to freak out with some new GX-45 "OOPS! reissue!" version, because then I'd just be turned off; personally speaking.
I'm still trying to catch up with old-school Mazinger stuff put out by Banpresto and Bandai from way back when twenty years ago.

I like the GX-45 better than the GX-1, I did not get the GX-1R though. That said the new GX-49 Getter Dragon is a step better even. I hope they do a Gaiking with the super posable body.

I still like the GX-01R better than the GX-45/GX-49. The elbow plates that stick out and figure's tiny size are a HUGE dissapointment.
So, what do you mean by the GX-49 Getter Dragon being a step better? Do you mean the GX-49 Mazinger, or the GX-51 Getter Dragon??? And then, what makes it a better figure???

had bandai made the gx-45 as tall or taller than the gx-01r than i know i would have been happier .
I do really like the new body though I think its a great improvement over the gx-01/1r/07 Mazingers .
I just got the new Getter Dragon and i like it . Its the new joint system that i like. the tabs on the elbows don't bother me .
I'm waiting to see if I will the the Getter Robo more than the Aoshima versions that i have .

Sorry I meant the GX-51 Getter Dragon, it's more diecast, the joins work great, and it's a bit bigger. I love how you can pull out sections to make them bend further, such as the legs or feet.

Okay, so after complaining for months about the abundance of new Mazinger and Getters... Here I am about to get my GX-45 this Wednesday. I am such a slave of the SOC line. And yeah, I will also get the new Getters... Eventually.

Not only does the gx-45 have better poseability but indeed a better detailed face sculpt. The size is the only negative. I like them both either way.

Not only does the gx-45 have better poseability but indeed a better detailed face sculpt. The size is the only negative. I like them both either way. The GX-45 is a different version of Mazinger. As a matter of fact, it is Shin Mazinger (not even designed by Go Nagai, but his friend Ken ISHIKAWA - see image below from one of his mangas). Here's Go Nagai's version: The face sculpt of the GX-45/GX-49 is the face sculpt of Shin Mazinger, not the classic Mazinger Z (TOEI Version) below. I think the face sculpt of the GX-01R is pretty much dead-on with the later episodes of the Classic 1970's Mazinger Z (TOEI) above. However, the best head/face sculpt of them all is the one from the GX-01R+... nothing beats that one! }D

@ TheMazingerZ : Thanks for the educative pics about the differences in these Mazingers. You have the eyes of a HAWK! I'll have to read the SOC timeline, because I didn't know there was an GX-01R+ out there. (edit)...just got done looking it up, it exists! I'll study more about it later.zozo-Magengar

Oh yeah, there was a limited release (fu(k you Bandai!) of the GX-01R+ SOC Mazinger Z. It was a Tamashii Nations exclusive... and it truly stayed a Tamashii Nations exclusive. Originally being sold at the show for around $80 USD, this bad boy of the Soul of Chogokin family is now fetching close to $300 in the secondary market - that is, if you can even find one!!!
I truly hate Bandai!!!

I hate to say it themazingerz, but when these Tamashii "specials" roll out - you gotta snap one up. I bought the GX-45A for $90USD --- and now this thing is getting $160USD! Same with the initial Energer (GX-07E). Yup, it's a love/hate thing with Bandai.

Man, why can manufacturers get everything Right the first time arround so we wouldn't have to get dragged around like CATTLE. Who needs the 01-R Plussy, I'll just keep my 01R. zozo-Mad

I believe it's that same hard plastic as the classic jumbo machinders. I really wanna get it... but how much is it in US dollars?
(ps: let's not get too far off topic here... as we know, there's already a thread for it in the Jumbos section)
