$250 for a Jumbo a good price???! I don't think so! I think it should have been in the $100 to $120 USD tops. After all, it is just a 60CM pre-painted hollow plastic figure... with Rocket Punch launchers and elbow articulation.
Back to Chogokin, any news on any new Mazinger stuff for the future? It has been very quiet lately...

There's been PLENTY of constant Mazinger news this whole past decade you maniac! Whahaha! ;0p
Seriously, I finally got one of the GX45. Showed up a a little store near me, and decided to not put it down, as I had some trade in credit with the store owner for some older stuff I brought in a few months ago, so didn't have to lay out much cash.(Trading/Consignment works nice sometimes. Another reason to like REAL stores)
Nice little gokin. Other than the back of the knee joint, nothing to warrant a lot of fuss and hooting, or differentiate it from earlier releases. Same basic thing. Cool with lots of diecast. Don't get me wrong, it's very nice, and the details of the bot, and the accessories, scrander pack, etc. are top notch. Priced like a normal small SOC, which is right. If they had tried to jack this up over $100 they'd be smokin' crack for sure. But I like it. Oh, and the gloves & polishing cloth bonus pack is hysterical! I'll have to keep them MIP, heehee.

Why hasn't anybody made a Mazinger with a voice chip or a talking base ?

They did that with "talkers" of a couple types back in the 70s, and early 80s. Might find something buried in the vintage archives here. I'm sure those hollow little SOC bases could fit a voice chip for sure.

Damn, $250 for the Neo Maz jumbo seems quite steep for me. I still want it, I'll wait and ride it out and see if the price will go down a bit. $150 to $175, Maybe (damn, not including shipping)... <sigh>... Why are the Best Mazinger toys ALWAYS beyond rrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeach ? zozo-Magengar

They are nowhere near in scale. I'll post a picture when I get home if nobody else does it first.

Wow, knowing the fairly small size of the Grendizer, the size of GX-45 comes as a shock to me. I know people were saying it was small but that's pretty miniature.
On the other hand, now I'm pretty tempted to buy him, knowing he's just about the same size as the (rather excellent) Grendizer fig...

Well, I guess that when you asked if they were in "scale" you meant if they were the same size, because these two particular robots are nowhere near in scale. However, it is in scale with the Yamato Hero Collection Mazingers.
