I know this post is a few months old but to you guys that are interested, I will be posting up an HD review of the Banpresto chogokin. Ive had it for a while and finally decided to get it on camera. Its a 10 minute quick review. I was afraid of the ratchets breaking so there isnt much posing at all, but you can see it up close and check out its nooks and crannies. Will be up soon!

For those who are afraid of breaking the too-tight thigh joints, if you're feeling adventurous you could always try what Pony-san did and cut some of the ratchet teeth out: pony-hp2.web.infoseek.co.jp/B-ALTEISEN.htmBefore: After: ... I never really felt too concerned about the tightness of the thigh ratchet; I just make sure to always grip Alt tightly at the crotch (ow!) whenever I twist his thighs.

hey locidm !! if you want my opinion get the 1/100 scale kit i have three of the alteisen figures and honestly I think the 100 scale kit is the best of all !! its amazing and huge it is the same size as dancouga soc and has light features and come with a figure of kyosuke the pilot . i was able to make some good poses out of it and you wont have to feel afraid while posing it cuz its a kit and you can easily assemble it.. its hard to find now tho

Thanks Adiru. I ended up buying the Banpresto diecast version, but it isn't my cup of tea and I sold it. I was thinking hard about the 1/100 version though! If I ever get the time to build a model that may be what I wanna get. Good to know that it's as big as dancouga!
$35 shipped for the diecast figure is such a deal! I sold mine like a month ago for little more than that. I didn't mind the joint system too much (didn't like it too much either), but it was the paint job that kept me from keeping it.

'm skipping this, if only for the chance that we might get the Endless frontier version.

That's a chance I REALLY wouldn't take. Really.
As much as I'd love it, seriously, I don't see it happening.

...but it was the paint job that kept me from keeping it. you know what? I was trying to put my finger on what was weird about it...I mentioned the paint was thick but by being thick it makes it lose "edge" cause its so thick it softens the edges. This paint is like frosted on. I am ordering another this friday...$35? Yes please

Like I said on your youtube comments, I hope you take at least one out and really fiddle with it, because half of the fun of the figure is the gimmicks . The spring loaded boosters, the revolver bunker, the separate, functional shells (my favorite part!), it's all part of the figure's charm. It may not be the prettiest or have the nicest finish, but it's a damn fine and heavy toy version of the Alteisen.

Banpresto Alt.is a really cool figure.I got one on YJ.for around ¥5,500.00 I think,I like the maintenance dock and the option to take the shells out of the barrel and scatter them under the fig.looking like he just kicked some major ass.

In fact I am buying another right now If anyone is thinking about it, dont think.. just get your butt over to the link in the previous post and pick one up darn cheap cause there is only 6 hours left here as I type this. The heaviest robot you will ever buy for 35 bux shipped

Yeah. Can't believe people still have doubt for this diecast Alteisen for $35, when they are remotely interested in the design. I paid full price back then, and still glad I have one even at that price. $35 can roughly get you just a revoltech these days, with some change if lucky.

I think I'm going to have to get another myself. Maybe I'll repaint or weather it.

Make it blue & weathered. Wasn't that the night version model? Think they call it Alteisen Nacht.

Alteisen Nacht was the "other dimension" version of Alteisen. I think Kyosuke also repainted the Alteisen blue to make it look like the Nacht... as a disguise? Or something? I got bogged down in OG2 and didn't make it very far, eheh.
I am tempted to paint this other one blue, though.

Got mine today as well. Pretty cool figure. It's true, shipping was over $14 for mine, so essentially it was less that $21 for this chogokin!
