Interesting release plan. Lion bot comes with the transforming Tobikage, while the other two bot sets come with the action figure type Tobikage & the Zerokage. Getting all 3 sets you get everything. But for the budgeted collector, they have a choice to pick & choose. I like that idea. I would perfer if they do it in 2 sets. One for the (bigger size) action type that include Tobikage and Zerokage. Another for the transformation type that have all 3 'beasts' and a small 'transformable' Tobikage.

i would choose the one of Tobikage looks cooler and more anime accurate, so i guess it'll be the action type one

It'd be nice if they released it w/ a 'body double' similar to what they did for Baikanfu. That way each 'beast' can be displayed as beast without a hollow cavity.

It is no good to split them into three box sets!! I prefer display dummy parts like Baikanfu.

what is the one in the bottom right? it looks like a stripped down version of the main robot but if you look at all the proportions and details it looks more like a different seperate toy all together, i also noticed the screws on the legs are big maybe this is a mini figure that acctually hooks to the other robots, and not the bigger one you see in the main pictures

So a little explanation here, why is there two versions of Tobikage? Is one just a regular multi-posable version and the other one can combine with the other mecha or what? Does that mean there will be two separate versions of this character?

maybe they are seperate releases like the the recent tekkaman? one main release which is normal SOC size and details that has alot of poseability (like Tekkaman Spec) and another set which contains a smaller robot where the main selling point is that it comes with a handful of other larger diecast mechs that it hooks onto a transforms with (tekkaman and Pegasus)

I don't know much about Tobikage but I guess they had to go this route due to anime magic.

The 'action' version Tobikage looks awesome.

It's possible none of them combine but Bandai didn't have any other figure to package up with Kurojishi so they made an "old school" version of Tobikage as filler. Hopefully that's not the case.

Photo update. Photo from Toysdaily.com The words "combine" are there on the lower right "smaller" Tobikage, and the one on the left says "Action Type" so I guess we are getting 2 types of the guy. I'm really wondering if this will be a full set with all 3 robots in with 2 Tobikage or a individual break apart set like Getter Dragon, Lyger and Poseidon. Sheesh. The differences between the 2 Tobikage are somewhat painful to look at. It's like looking at an awesome Anime character and his less than inspiring cosplay fanboy. Gold

So basically if you want any of them then you also have to buy Kurojishi for it to combine.
I kind of wish Bandai would just engineer it so that the cool looking Tobikage would work as the combiner. I don't know what kind of proportions Bandai thinks they need to preserve for the animal/vehicle forms, but I can't help but feel like these "alternates" are skimping somehow. I mean, there is always a way in engineering to make things work right?

No, the one on the bottom right (in the pic above) says "Gattai Gimmick Naizou Type" - which translates to Combining Gimmick Included Type.
