Huh. That box picture looks really 'shopped. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out, though.

This just supports my feelings of feeling the MP line has grown lazy. The only thing that would change that is if this figure had a lot of retooling and a slight bit of diecast. I am actually surprised this figure got a MP listing before a MP movie prime.

I'm not surprised though since it's such an easy figure to repackage, they'd have to make an all new Prime for the MP treatment. You said it yourself, they're getting lazy. I imagine there'll be a lot of people in Japan just importing the Hasbro version for half the price if there's nothing unique about the MP-M01 release.

Yuck... I hope this is just a belated April's fool day trick ! There's so many characters waiting to get MP treatment, why the priority for movie Starscream?

actually, what do you guys think of the movie starscream's design? cuz even if they managed to work out the undercarriage issue during transformation, i cant see it standing in my display cabinet (but then, its just my personal preference)

To tell the truth, I loathe the movie design in general... It's just too drastic change of representation of the Transformers design that I'm familiar with.
A lot of people seems to be OK with it, since it's making multimillion dollars either as movie or merchandising.

i thought MP line is only for G1 Technically it still is. Movie Starscream starts a new numbering order with MP-M01, the second M stands for "movie". Rather than continuing the G1 MP line it's starting a new one. Emerje

I dig the movie designs, and I love the Leader Starscream figure. It's very well designed, looks great, has a fantastic transformation, and a ton of clever moving parts that let you know the designers really thought him through. No interest in paying 2x again for him for the same toy with shinier paint, though

This should have no effect on regular MP's since it's just using the same packaging with a new numbering system. I guess when the first two movies make over a billion dollars combined they are a significant part of the Transformer franchise if you like the designs or not. It's probably the Japanese version of the Leader class we have here.

Walmart is really amazing. I purchased Leader Starscream just 3 days ago on their website for $30 dollars. Now the price has jumped up to $49 dollars. Glad I got the first batch that was listed on the site. Talk about capitalism.
