O M G!!!!!! This fker's HEAVY!!! And friggin TALLER than the GX-01R Mazinger-Z... ...the Perfect scale for these Mazinger SOCs!!! (my GX-02R) Damn AWESOME sculpt! The majestic trueness to its anime character source! DROP THE PREVIOUS VERSIONS AND GET THE "R" VERSIONS!!! ;D The GX-02R is well worth the money and y'all Won't be dissapointed! zozo-Magengar Haha Congrats, bro, for the 'R' Double Mazingers!I wish I could have 'em too. Okay, it's so clear that most of you find that the R versions are better than the original! I believe in it now -- but... Let's take Great Mazinger GX-02R for 2 points that really concern me: - 1 - Doesn't it annoy you that you can't take off the extra accessory weapons on the legs as in the original version? 2 - Doesn't it annoy you that the Great Booster has its cone inside and it can't take the form of its flight mode?GX-02 GX-02R Again, I know the R version is better but I am unable to get over the 2 points I've mentioned

That's just to show Great Mazinger, for making a point in the posted comment. In real life, Both Mazinger are shown crystal clear shaking hands. I still haven't actually PLAYED with my GX-02R yet; I put him in storage for safe-keeping (my housemate's damn cats are knocking my figs off my shelf... someday there's gonna be a blown-up pile of sizzling hot cat carcasses inside the microwave if I lose my temperrrrrrrrrr). If the weather gets nice this coming weekend I might take him out for an outdoor photoshoot; otherwise I'd rather ship him to Puerto Rico with the rest of my collection where he'll be Safe. zozo-magengar why's the mazinger on the bottom blurry.

actually for the great booster in the Gx-02 it was criticizes a lot for been in strike mode and not in flight mode, however is the same deal with GX-02R only vise-versa. but they should of of try to make it a transforming booster which in my opinion they could have done it.

I'll check it out and see... maybe that nose cone or nose spike slides out of the booster for flight mode. By the way, I'm dynamicly impressed with how the rear stabilizer fins "spring" out behind the lower legs, like a "switchblade" pop-out action....................... CoOol! zozo-Magengar

But at least in GX-02 you can turn the cone inside, you know! But yes, the best would have been if they gave it the possibility to take both forms (strike and flight)...however, this might be a selling plan by Bandai; so, fans buy both GX-02 and GX-02R (the same they did with the GX-01 and 01R pilders, I guess) By the way, I'm dynamically impressed with how the rear stabilizer fins "spring" out behind the lower legs, like a "switchblade" pop-out action....................... ;D OK, pals! Thank you for your reviews about the GX-02/02R Soul of Chogokin. Now, I will take GX-01 and what concerns me for GX-01R. "Mazinger Z" 1. Some people mentioned the problem with one of its pilders and a head problem. How annoying is it for you?
2. Again, I take these super robots as real mechas not just action figures so, size does matter to me...The shorter Mazinger Z is, the more realistic to me it is, specially, when displayed next to GX-04. Do I need to see a psychologist for that?
3. Hmmm, well...that belly missile in GX-01 still also look more real-robot thingy to me. I mean, come 'n, see [0:24] in this video ;D too much kid toy thingy to me!My important question also is: is there is any manufacturing defects in the original versions? Now, I wonder if I can play Darts with the Booster! ;D zozo-Magengar I wonder who's gonna represent the target? Has anyone seen magengar's housemate cat lately, guys?

- the head for me is just fine, the problem is the pilders because there way to big in contrast to Mazinger Z head.
- again, is not about the specs data is about anime accuracy, if this would be the case then the super robot army vs. te sea monster it shoulnt have been made neither with great Mazinger nor grendizer, just leave getter dragon alone in the movie because he is the biggest.
- i dont like either in all honesty, i prefer the one that GX06 getter robo does, that one is so much mecha and realistic.
I considered Mazinger Z to be the shortes of the group, but not the extend of the mistake GoNagai did XD, when i heard about it i was in total shock. GoNagai needs to go back to school ..AGAIN XD lol

Honestly, I am not quite sure I understand this problem, yet because when I see photos or videos for GX-01R, I hear or read no complaints from the guys and I see no problem with the pilders being set into the head! So, you are trying to say that they are big that they stuck inside and need to be pulled by force? 2. Man, I know, lots of you won't care for the scale ratios! It's just a matter of personal taste (it varies from someone to another)...but look, I believe it makes a difference and visually is nice in the photo below not to make all sizes the same. 3. Well, GX-06 has a different way for shooting the Getter Ray, it wouldn't be suitable for Mazinger Z's missile! I think the best thing they should have done is to make the belly opens 2 halves inside (similar a little bit to how you open Dizer's Spazer front sides)...it would make it similar to the anime too ;D

I just look at it this way:
In some sense, scale size does matter.... that is because when the GX-01 was released, he seemed a bit shorter than the Afrodai SOC. As for anime accuracy, the GX-01's blue limbs were unrealisticly Blue, too Blue of a lighter shade than they appear in the anime. Then, there's the Pilder size problem... the GX-01's Pilder does look too big inside that crown... looks like a busted condom! LOL!
Bandai just Haaad to fix those problems quickly; that's why the GX-01R was made. It's a re-paint, re-issued, re-scaled version that's more accurate in appearance and size. And, the Pilder size looks more appropriate for the GX-01R.
To think that I was gonna get a GX-01 soon after starting in this hobby and joining RJ. But first I had to read all the toy reviews about the GX-01 before I spent my money.
(I compare this to buying a new Windows OS: I never buy an OS on its first release, until AFTER all the bugs have been worked out and repaired.)
I didn't wanna spend money buying, and staying stuck with, the GX-01 knowing that sooner or later I'd buy the GX-01R. For me, personally, that would've been my Self-Ass-kickin redundant waste of money. LOL!
I'm glad I waited for the possibility of any improvements to be made to the GX-01, which later was finalized in the form of the GX-01R.
;D

the GX-01's Pilder does look too big inside that crown... zozo-Magengar Huh! Wait a second, brother! Everyone here 'n there says that the GX-01R pilder is big and unsatisfying when set inside the head. Now, you are the first to say the opposite! Are you sure you meant GX-01 not GX-01R?

Here's both GX-01 versions side by side... look at their Pilders... ...do those Pilders look different, or Bigger? Or, perhaps my eyes need to get checked. If it's my eyes playing tricks on me, I'll just go see an optometrist and get new glasses for my glasses. ;D zozo-Magengar the GX-01's Pilder does look too big inside that crown... zozo-Magengar Huh! Interesting. I really never noticed anything peculiar about the Pilder's size in the GX-01R... in that center pic, I can see the Pilder's rudder sticking out of the crown---> is That what you mean by it's "too big" size? I thought that size looked appropriate. The cockpit body looks to be a good size for the GX-01R's Pilder, as well. So far, I found these pics and screenies below from the anime... If I can find better pics from the anime that will show his head sideways and other angles, that would help determine if the Pilder is, or is Not, supposed to be sticking out of the crown like that. zozo-Magengar

Did you know that the GX-01R's sculpt and design is based on the Mazinger Z vs Ankoku Dai Shogun OVA.
Yes, the GX-01R's Hover Pilder looks a little weird and big. However, the Jet Pilder is a perfect fit.
And did you know that the GX-01 did not come with a Jet Pilder? Nope, it came included with the GX-02.

I guess I made up my mind now for purchasing the Soul of Chogokin Double Mazingers versions -- in my next post, I will tell which, why and for what reasons!
