Hmmm... I really like those 2 and I believe they would look nice next to my GX-04S, but since I intend to add GX-10 (Boss Borot) to the collection, I guess I have to stick to the Soul of Chogokin line. And I still want a SOC Mazinkaiser!

WOW! I'm learning History again! So, does that mean back in that day, it was originally supposed to have been a high-grade poseable model kit with plastic and diecast? (I sense they were gonna compete against the Bandai Mechacolles?) That's interesting to know. Thanks for the info. zozo-Magengar

Mentioning Bandai's Mechacolles, can I find a list with the mechas they made?
Did all of 'em have a fixed scale?

(off-topic)
I'm not sure exactly how many Mechacolles Bandai has made. As for their scales, I don't know how to measure nor determine scale size for models and figures.
I've only built one Mechacolle so far (the MC Maz), and I've got Raideen waiting to be built later on down the road. I'd say their scales are fixed (all models the same relative size, give or take a half-inch or so).
So far, the only MCs (MechaColles) I've seen have been Mazinger-Z Mazinger-Z (extra-heavy version) Great Maz Great Maz (extra-heavy version) Shin Mazinger Shin Mazinger (God Scrander transforming to Zeus Fist version) Raideen Getter Robo1 (classic series version)
Mazinkaiser*** (I'm not sure if this was a MC kit... there was a Mazinkaiser "chrome" model kit that looked like a MC)
Of the MC listed above, only three were re-issued in 2007 as compliments to their original 2001 version kits.
If the data I've stated above are wrong, someone please correct me. Any further info about these MechaColles would be welcome so we can start a separate dedicated thread to the MechaColles and update their timeline as long as they're still being made.

Mazinger Z Heavy Version (metallic colors)...that sounds cool! A picture for that one please? I have it... it is not "Extra Heavy" like the box states. It is not my favorite MC Mazinger either. The metallic colors just don't do it for me... The Mecha Collection Mazinger Z used to be my favorite Mazinger Z figure of them all, including the SOCs and Daigokin. Now, things have changed... After the custom paint job, this is my favorite Mazinger Z figure now! ;D }D

Thanks for the corrections, bro! Now, can I at least have a toke fer tryin? ;D With knowledgeable folks like You, who needs Wiki! LOL Browsing down further, I see the metallic Xtra-Heavy version MC Maz... If I were Me, I'd keep just the metallic limbs and waist, while having everything else on his armor and accessories remain "Toei" color (as in, Non-metallic). Or just have both kits and enjoy part-swappin them. Right there, he looks like a friggin Christmas ornament frosted metal Minty Santa Claus candy. ;D Here's my favorite Mc Maz after trickin him up... robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=fancustom&thread=17076&post=199672zozo-Magengar Close, but no cigar man... When I look at the upper legs, I am like this When I look @ the upper arms, I am like that Darn!I still need to visit a shrink ;D cuz I am still unable to like the R versions view with GX-04 On the other hand, I think the R Double Mazingers look great with Maxfactory's Mazinkaiser.

Hi, LurkerX! Thank you so so much for taking the time to share this with us! Uhhh, it's the risk someone will take if buying the primary versions. Not as tough as the later versions for sure! ;D Can't we consider these battle damage? Once again, I really appreciate that you shared these with us...it helps in the reconsideration before buying.

Wow, that's the first time I've ever seen damaged SOCs. Makes me wanna stay on top of mine to make sure I don't place them anywhere extreme nor handle them in any rough manner.

No problem I'm just sorry it took so long to post if it weren't for these issues I would've already gotten the GX-01B I just do not want the same experience. And I do take care of my stuff, after assembling it there it stood in my glass curio I must've handled it least than 20x in since 1997 (when I got it) half of those were to move it to re-arrange my shelves. Its just really poorly designed and the materials quality just wasn't up to snuff. In this case, the "R" version was a necessary release. OT: Now that I see myself writting this, perhaps grabbing a GX-50 isn't so bad after all. Cheers

I am still in love with the GX-01/02! Even when I approach the SRC with my mind...my heart pulls me back to the originals Damn! I $till didn't get paid. OK, here's a good joke for the Grendizerians but a bad one for the Mazingerians... An Italian friend saw the cracks and he says, "You either played with 'em too much...or let GX-01 battle the GX-04." I hope the themazingerz doesn't read this post ;D LOL!
