Well the teaser is out.
I feel like there is going to be more conflicting story telling about how they got to earth. Not big on the bots face but I still look forward to it.

Me neither: something about that pan and zoom down to that bot at the end seems little off... I feel like I'm watching cheap 90s CG render... And it doesn't help that the robot's face has a passing resemblance to Ivan Ooze (when he became a CG kaiju at the end of the MMPR movie, I mean). ...either way... we all know this movie will make a ton of money at the box office and I will be reduced to being some fanboy statistic no matter how much I say I hated the first 2 movies in the series.

Bay says the trailer uses unfinished effects and that no scene in the movie is more than 80% complete yet. I actually like the mystery bot's face quite a bit, it's the most solid, organic, G1 looking face we've seen to date. It didn't look like a mosaic of random parts creating the allusion of a face, it looked like a face. Bay also said this movie would be much more serious, no more stupid jokes and a lot more action. Whether he actually follows through is another thing entirely.
As for who that character actually is, the front runners seem to be Alpha Trion (an established character in movie-based fiction), Vector Prime (who is not established in the movies, but is supposed to be a singularity across the TF multiverse), and Sentinel Prime (who is established as a character in the movies, Sam mentioned his name during one of his AllSpark blackouts in TF2). I'm leaning toward Sentinel Prime, supposedly he left Cybertron on an expedition and never came back. My theory is that his travels brought him near Earth where he encountered Megatron. Megatron ends up crashing on Earth while SP and his ship and crew crash on the Moon. There was also a rumored leak earlier this year that SP would be in the movie. Can't really think of any reason why Alpha Trion would leave Cybertron since he's supposed to be at Vector Sigma archiving the planet's history, let alone why he'd be crashed on the Moon. Vector Prime being in the movie would just complicate things too much since whenever he shows up continuity goes out the window.

Attention Michael Bay:
TF3 movie with Dinobots = win.
TF3 movie with no Dinobots = fail

Emerje If that was Sentinel Prime, it would contradict the whole "Last Prime" from the previous movie and we will get a plothole. But I'd go to Alpha Trion or Victor Sigma, or even Ultra Magnus. --- Going to the toys side, what do you think about these two points that I have in mind right now? - Optimus Prime's Trailer: Will we get it only in a premium set or a separate accessory for Leader-Class Prime? And will be compatible to ROTF Leader Prime or Buster Prime? - Re-releases or New Molds: Will Optimus and Starscream's leader-class figures get re-released as they are or will they be new molds? The same question goes to Voyager Starscream. Will it be the same as ROTF with the half-finished hands or will they fix it for the third movie? The same goes to other characters from the previous movies and the HFTD lines.

I think it looks like Alpha Trion as well, but that does not mean they will not use the look of one character and apply it to another. I hope there is no more primes, but I do not feel these movies stay consistent, so there may be very well be. I thought the first movie was OK, and I did enjoy the second movie. I assume the OP made for this movie will be the best one considering how much they keep advancing the design each time they make him. I would then assume the last prime toy for the move will go MP on the Takara line.

- Optimus Prime's Trailer: Will we get it only in a premium set or a separate accessory for Leader-Class Prime? And will be compatible to ROTF Leader Prime or Buster Prime? Whether or not we get a trailer depends entirely on how it's used in the movie. If it's just used for a moment it probably wont get made into a figure, if it's used as a command center like the original G1 trailer it stands a better chance, but probably with a deluxe sized figure. If it forms armor or something then it might be the TF3 choice for a Supreme class figure. Hard to say. TF2 didn't end up using many TF1 molds, they ended up using a lot of entirely new molds or heavy remolds. We also doin't know what Starscream will look like in the movie, he may appear different from the first two and require an entirely new figure. BTW, they gave the TF2 Starscream Voyager figure real hands instead of the canon stumps of the first figure. That bot from the teaser trailer just doesn't make sense to me as Alpha Trion. It doesn't make sense for him to be on the moon instead of Cybertron, and it doesn't make sense for him to be gold. To me Alpha Trion should be purple with an epic fu manchu. Of course, this being Bayformers, looks aren't everything. But Sentinel Prime is traditionally gold/orange/yellow (outside of Animated) and has a reason to be away from Cybertron. As for the whole "last Prime" thing, SP had disappeared and was presumed dead, and for good reason seeing the wreckage of the ship. Just like nobody could find Megatron when he was shut down it makes sense that nobody would be able to find SP while deactivated. Don't forget, they also established this with Jetfire's hibernation hiding him. We don't actually know if he came back online during the trailer or if his body was simply in some sort of shutdown restoration mode or something. Seeing as how all of the government types on Earth that new about Megatron acted as if he was their first and only contact until the Autobots showed up, it's likely Sentinal is still up on the moon. Yeah the whole Dinobot thing and the reasons Bay doesn't want them in the movie is pure nonsense. It's a movie about giant living robots and you just have to suspend reason for a couple of hours, works for the Harry Potter franchise and LOTR's. Plus it would be super easy to get them in, just have a fight near a museum or something that has the animatronic dinosaurs and have Prime use the All Spark or whatever to bring them to life. I've seen the show that had these things and they were huge, life size and would be a simple excuse to get the Dinobots in what will probably be the last Transformer movie.

I've skipped on Leader class Starscream and battle ops bumblebee from ROTF in hopes they do better leader figs for them for the third movie.
Although I'm hoping they do better figs instead of down grade like what happen to Spiderman 3 figures compared to Spiderman 2. @67 points of articulation! AMAZING!! I still regret getting Super poseable 18 inch spiderman.. Every finger moved etc..

I have yet to see a movie BB that I wanted, I am hoping that changes by the time TF3 comes out. I like the on screen design, but so far have not been keen on the toys for the figure.

I know exactly why Michael bay won't include dinobots in the movie:
He can't charge product placement advertising fees for putting them in, and it eats air time for those that he can charge for.
Unlike pretty much most all North America car manufacturers getting in on the transformers action to imbed their product in the minds of young naive impressionable youths.
I just hope he at least uses some sportly jp imports on the next TF.....

The motorcycle is RtS Wreck-Gar.
The truck is rumored to be Megatron in the movie. Wish the people who have these in hand would stop teasing and just transform them all ready. Kinda looks like the trailer tarp can double as a cloak. The figure itself looks really small on the keybard, Voyager perhaps, too small for Leader class?
It looks like the gun on BB can turn into something, a robot maybe? Yeah, definitely getting an Energon Hot Shot vibe from him.
