My Aquarion arrived today. Darn, I am out of town for work! I can't wait to play with it tomorrow night. Is it really that much of a challenge to combine the 3 robots? Thanks in advance for the feedback. Yes it's a bit hard ( but not as hard as volks Srx )to combine the three the first time it take me two hour to combine it ( but i did it very slowly)

2 hours!!! Oh no! I want tonight to be a relaxing evening! I've been out-of-town for work! Don't worry i take two hour because i transform it very carefully ( and also trying some combine that are not in the manual ) but at max it's should take one hour to transform in each mode at first. But last thing use the stand to make it stand in normal pose

I'm not hating it yet Right now, I'm just admiring its ship mode--though they are kinda flimsy and I had a hard time finding its metal content. I do really, really like the color scheme. Part of the reason why I didn't want the first one was that I didn't like the color treatment, plus, it is not an SOC! I never buy non-SOCs, however, when I saw this GE-01 for half of the price on eBay... Well, I just had to get it...

Is it just me or are the toys better than most of the shows? I find most of the associated animation disappointing. Technically impressive but the stories are mostly weak, weird, confusing or all three. Maybe it's just a cultural thing too...

Aquarion is an awful, awful show.
I tried, REALLY tried to watch it. I think I quit around episode 7.

Aw, now now... If you don't watch both seasons of the show you will miss the ending credits where they actually comine the GD-99 - in about 4 seconds! A pretty good advertisement for the Aquarion figure.
But I agree, they storyline and CGI animation are weird. However, the Aquarion anime is 1000 times better than Casshern Sins!!!

The animation is okay for me. The only thing I find weird is the expression on their faces when they merged to form Aquarion.

It is so inappropriately sexual! Underaged, siblings, the show is not just for adults, etc... Sometimes, I wish that I don't watch the anime... It sort of ruins the toy experience.

The "gattai-gasms" are supposed to indicate that their souls touch when they merge.
According to Tantric belief (a branch of Hindu & Buddhist thought), when two people share an orgasm their souls touch. Since the Aquarion machines actually link to the pilot's souls, ( & get a bunch of nifty super-attacks ;D ) when they merge the souls briefly touch, which triggers an orgasm.
So it's the tantric thing in reverse.
I think the reasons Kawamori put that in the show:
1. To add a spiritual element to the show. 2. To poke a little fun at the whole idea of combining ships.

Okay, I just transformed the darn thing. Whew! I am so happy to be able to form the robot! The backpack solar thing was the hardest part. It was so challenging to transform that I left it as is... Totally wrong! It's 2.30 am and I need to sleep! I broke Zambot Ace's leg while transforming Zambot. I felt so awful after that that I've been super careful with the rest of my SOCs. I don't feel that bad because unless you guys see my collection, no one else that I know will say, "Hey, you didn't transform Aquarion the right way." I know that people will be impressed with its presence, I know that I am. It is the widest robot that I have! Aside from its complexity, the other downside is that it is only a display toy. You can't really play with it because it's kinda flimsy. I feel the same about my GX-46. These robots are nice to look at but you can't handle them all that much.
Overall, I like Aquarion. I am glad to have it. Finally... Man, these are selling for as high as $700 on eBay!

One thing for sure... I will never, ever get another non-SOC robot! Thanks for knocking me back to my senses, Aquarion. I've been so disciplined and focused since starting my SOC collection in 2000. I strayed and learned my lesson well Oh my gosh, I have my very first non-SOC in my display case. Have I contaminated it? I'm freakin' out!!!
