I can't wait for this, hopefully FP makes a upgrade for their Bruticus to make it taller and I'm hoping that they will make a Superion sometime down the road. The Maketoys and FP stuff just looks more refined then the TFC stuff. Less non-nonsensical paint aps and a good sense of proportion, TFC stuff looks good with Classics and the like while I think the "cleaner" look of MT and FP stuff looks good with Masterpieces.

FP and MT designs catch a comics style for TF characters. Imo, TF toys on that scale shoulded be designed like this : sharp edges, tenses on the right shell lines... Posings are allways "strong" (I mean efficient) due to joints possibilities, proportions, etc... Example : on X-Function line, bot proportions are perfect. Transformations are clever : no mode is forgotten (alt + robot).
MT Giant is my best Devastator. TFC is huge and created a big surprise. IMO The difference ? TFC are really toys for kids, very playable and strong with simple transformations. MT and FP are more complicated, fragile : these are pieces for collectors. And, design is my more taste. They keep me collecting TF of this scale while I am focusing on MP scale (hello Fanstoys, Cubex and X-Transbot).
This FP M3 is great to complete this scale combiner family and FP Bruticus really need new X-Fire figures for Onslaught, Vortex and Brawl. A new Onslaught could give some high to the set and makes Bruticus on the same stage. You are right Chen : let's bring a new FP Superion !

I mean, Diesel is beautiful. What I really don't like about him is that while his transformation is intricate and complicated, only 6/10 of the cab and trailer is required to turn him into a robot. Even the original motormaster needs the whole vehicle mode to turn into robot mode.
I kinda know these facts in advance, but it still bums me to see the application. And I want to see cabs as feet, dammit!

True but when you see the old and new side by side I think you can forgive the shortcomings of the FP verion.

LOL. That's what I call a no contest Chen.
I think the guys that decide to get Diesel and his gang are really going to be happy. I'm just nitpicking here.

The guy is huge, but the comparative shots in Peaugh video showing that MMC Feral rex is BIG ! It suits with TFC combiners. we also see the alternate version with cars shifting : The colors tone balance could be light color tone cars (yellow and white) for the arms and darkest for legs (red and grey).

And I want to see cabs as feet, dammit! Math time! If Optimus chest is made out of the full cab section, for Motormasters feet to made out of an even bigger cab, it would require MM to be at least 6 to 8 times bigger than Prime. Seeing how Prime is easly twice the size of the other sport car Autobots; MM would probably need to be 12 to 16 times bigger than the other stunticons Not to mention, Classics Prime forearms are made out of half the cab section and they look ridiculous.... imagine making feet out of the full cab. Just plain nonsense. Plus, Prime is made of only the cab while this MM is made out of the cab and half the trailer. Yet they are more or less the same size in robot mode in the cartoon. All in all, a great job by FP

I won't lie. I am still iffy on the gestalt, vs giant. However, the individual bots bleed so much more personality though.

The amount of weapons on that motormaster figure is a cross between a clusterf**k and a hot mess. Its just way too insane %P

Sweet review TJ! Fansproject really needs to make a upgrade set for Colossus to make him a inch or so taller.

Congrats! How is it? Hows the quality/engineering? I've seen on other boards tabs breaking off so I hope those are just from manhandling it. Can't wait to get mine.
