You just have to find something to stick with, and try to stay focused. If you can go crazy then do so, why not. As far as we know you only live once (just kidding). But for real, keeping focused will not only let you enjoy your toys, but will be gentler on the wallet. Many of the people you see with hordes or huge collections don't really get to enjoy their collection or the value in them. My collection opinion is; if you can't display it, or rotate it into a display, and most of your collection sits in storage, then you've obviously gone to far. What ever sits in storage is actually roting, or receiving no love to be enjoyed by you or others. Stick with what you can display, without creating a need for massive storage. Thats why I only collect Godaikins. For me, they are the best of the DX Japanese robots. Also the entire collection is extremely managable in display and storage due to its limited amount of individual robots.

Well, in my case, whatever sits in storage gives me the "I Have That" feeling of satisfaction, even if it isn't on display. Believe me, I know... ;D

I guess the biggest lesson of the show is to teach collectors to "collect within your capability". Meaning those people who are in debt or are not living comfortably should priorize it before your hobby. Heck no one ever question millionaries about their collections. When ur rich it's a hobby, but when your poor its a diease. The show is so disminate against average collectors.

And don't listen to TheMaz, he is one of "them" if you catch my drift! Haha just messing with ya Maz You already know I am jealous of your collection And see, even though Maz is one of the more waskelly wabbits, he has a focus, only the newer chogokins. He just needs a larger place to display them all. Of course, by the time they get to Mazinger Z 85,000 I am afraid Maz may be buried in them no matter how big his place is hahaha.

We need to send the producers of this show the mazingerz' info, so they can do a special on him. Seriously: I myself have gone through phases of collecting: SOCs, Hot Toys, etc. I'm currently in the Fewture (and soon to come) Bandai 12"PM/Mazinger DX series mode. All cyclical. And I had acquired TOO MANY SOCs. So I started unloading them. Sounds like others here on RJ go through the same.

I want to see his collections thru the show and get a chance to buy them, hahaha. That host is going to force him to sell them and i will be catching them on the other end.

You know fellers, a snowflake has a better chance of not melting in hell than someone, other than myself, going through my collection and selling it. ;D

I didn't like the show. I felt like I was watching that Hoarders show. to me it wasn't that the Collectors had too much. It was more like the stuff wasn't displayed well or organized.
You know that show American Pickers and they go to some one's home and its loaded with tons of stuff. AP guys get an old sign or a paint can or car parts. I don't see anybody going over to those folks home's and saying they've got a collecting problem...just saying.

This whole hoarders phenomena is actually quite new. Just a few decades ago, storage units for regular people were non-existent. We just have way too much stuff these days. This goes beyond our robot obsession. A couple of years ago, we had a garage sale and a man talked to us about how his great, great grandfather during the turn of the century only owned two shirts (we had lots on sale that day). He pointed out the reason why traditional Boston homes have tiny closet spaces (yeah, tell me about it). People just didn't have a whole lot of clothes back then and now, we have way more than we need. And this is just one example. How many TVs do we have? Computers, cell phones, DVDs, CDs and list goes on and on. We are all a bit of hoarders in our own way.
My SOCs give me tremendous amount of joy. Looking at my collection and playing with the robots are greats way to escape, especially when work is intense. However, I do know that instead on spending more on my collection, I can instead donate to a worthy cause or help a family member or something. This is one of the preventative ways I allow myself to feel in order not to "hoard" when it comes to my beloved collection.

I just watched an episode of Collection Intervention where they featured a guys who collects Japanese die-cast robots. I am pretty sure that he has some SOCs. I am surprised that you guys haven't started to this discuss that episode. Man, I am so not that guy. I am so glad that I am not seeing my SOC collection as my 401k. I don't think that I will ever sell my collection. However, I am glad to know that some my SOC robots have gone up in price. As I have been mentioning, I am happy with the amount that I have and I would be more than okay if the SOC line ends. My only next step in the future is to have a larger space where I can properly display my SOC collection. My future man cave will have giant shelves that are well lit. I would love to see my SOCs displayed with lots of space in between each robot. Right now, my GX01 to 61 are so cramped in my two glass case Ikea boxes (I have SPECs, BPXs and PXs too). I am now watching another Collection Intervention episode.... I can almost guarantee that the guy who is "model bashing" is Filipino. Hint" he was forced into nursing to support his habit

I don't watch stuff like that. Zero interest in those type of shows. I rather watch paint dry or water evaporate. ;D

Yeah, I am not crazy about the show at all. I just love the fact that there is a TV show that would feature anything SOC-related in America.

I really dislike this show, the woman simply telling all the people MUST treat their toy collections as an investment. That is just sad and wrong.

I'd rather watch Magengar ride his bike off a cliff into a gorge and end up drifted ashore somewhere in Seattle. ;D

They just had a couple of "then and now" pics of Pamela Anderson in her Baywatch red swimsuit. Age has taken its toll... }D

What Maz? Did you say they had a SOC Pamela Anderson? Does she come with the special VD green weapons set, hidden pop-out hooter missiles, with the Tommy Lee flame sword? If so please don't let me know. I don't want to buy it.
