^ That's my thinking. If Danguard Ace went to the Sale Bin, this most likely will as well. Its very unlikely that will happpen dude. Bandai was already the second company that produced a modern Danguard Ace. Lots of collectors already got thier hands on the Yamato version, which most prefer over Bandai's. hence, could be the reason why the not so "selling like hotcakes" approach to Bandai DA. Bandai's Tryder G7 will be the first modern version of it,u can tell by the anticipation for it from forums to social networks. i highly doubt it will have the same fate as Danguard Ace. I wonder how popular Tryder is outside Japan and Europe? The Tryder G7 anime was never shown in the US was it? I don't believe i ever heard of Tryder myself ( I grew up in the Philippines) until when Bandai announced this release last year...

yup.. he wasnt shown in some parts of Asia, but in these modern times, we can all just surf for infos, or watch old anime videos on youtube, etc.. etc.. and yes, u can be a fan, overnight hehe.. Also the fact there are lots of guys there that are not your typical random chogokin buyer, they are chogokin line collectors. and im pretty sure they aint buying these chogokin stuff for just, lets say...one, two, or three pcs.. Gotta admit, that good lookin' bot, all those multiple modes.. its been quite a while we last saw Bandai release stuff something like this. If some of u guys even bought chogokin Franky which is an oddity to be part of the chogokin line.. well much so now this classic robot Tryder G7 gonna be a shame to pass up. And he was supposed to be the last gokin to complete the trio with Zambot and Daitarn. And there are quite a lot out there who already own these two. So buying just one more poor deserving little brother for these two gokins wouldnt hurt that much to all you guys' deep pockets to fill a space in your display cab... right? hehe

And lets not forget this was a POPULAR Clover Gokin,so it was a vintage toy too.So it brings a semblance of Nostalgia to old collectors.

Tryder was not an obscure unknown robot from where I was from. Not sure if the show was ever aired back then, but I had a plastic action figure of it. Its toys can be seen commonly at department stores for quite a when I was very young as well. I would say Tryder is in similar league with Daitarn 3 & Zambot 3. Not among the most popular/common super robots like Mazingers, Getters, Combattler, Raideen...etc. But well known enough. Tryder also showed up in quite a few SRW games as well.

yup,if hes not that popular, Bandai wouldnt even consider giving him a SOC treatment. U guys right now would probably still wishing him to be made to a gokin someday hehe.. or perhaps youre now seeing him in Dynamite Action's soon to be released obscure lineup...

Cool, I'm assuming he is really big in Europe and Japan. If Trider G7 wasn't shown in North America, I'm hoping there may be there is a chance we can get one on clearance...

Im so stoked! and look the feet are metal!!!!! About the stage acts, when I first started collecting,I was adamant about displaying all the weapons, later I found it redundant and space taking. Even with the ingenious new bases,it still looks like alot of kibble behind a beautiful robot, when you pile a bunch of different weapons together it takes away from the figure's clean lines and adds junk.
If anyone is getting the stage act bases,I suggest just a weapon or two,not every little bit, just me.

Damn that is a lot of visible connection points on the inside leg.hope its not so obvious when painted.Wish Bandai would include a cover plate that also clicks in to those points, adding a smooth texture to teh inside legs.Wouldnt that be a great idea?

I'm not 100% sure but I think the feet are plastic? The sheen isn't quite the same as the legs. BTW how many SOC Stages do you guys plan to get? I'm thinking of grabbing at least 3, one for Zambot, Trider and Daitarn. But depending on how sturdy it is, I might get more, the stands might be a good way to "quake-proof" big SOCs if you fasten them to the backdrop with a clear twist tie or something, that is of course, assuming the backdrop is locked/ clipped onto the base firmly and not just pegs plugged into holes... They're kinda pricy for stands.
One may not be expensive, but buy several and the money quickly piles up.

Hehe, I know what you mean, hopefully using preorders for the base will make it cheaper. Damn that is a lot of visible connection points on the inside leg.hope its not so obvious when painted.Wish Bandai would include a cover plate that also clicks in to those points, adding a smooth texture to teh inside legs.Wouldnt that be a great idea? Yeah, Kinda wished Bandai "adopted" some of Cm's ideas particularly the screwhole covers. Gold

Gold Look at the inside view of the foot in the tall Robot form pic,it seems to be the same, even the swirly metal pattern of zinc mix metals is there,I think the feet may be metal.I dont think Ill get the bases. If I do Ill have to be a purest and by a ton, that would mean lining them up,new display and possibly new cabinets,Im gonna pass,I only use bases for the smaller SOC anyhow, just too much space etc for them.Im up to 7 detolfs now.

Just a quick digibash. Too bad Zambot is so unposable, there is a way to give him way greater leg articulation but it would mean you would have to mod Zamboace's feet. It's those feet that limit articulation. Zambot deserves a ver 2.0. Really wish I'd gotten daioja when he was in the bargain bin. *sigh*
