So I got one of these on HLJ's Summer Clearance sale. My first in hand enounter with HLPro. My impression? Mixed. It's a great looking set. The Gattaiger saucer itself is pure 2 lbs of awesome. Worlds coolest paperweight. I even ordered a Flightpose stand just for it. The Robizer? Ummm? How to say...? Kinda meh. It's great, in that this is likely the only version of this sucker we will ever see. Plus he scales nicely with SOC's. I have the Metalic version and he looks great standing next to Energer Z. he looks absolutely fantastic on display, from a distance. Up close or in handling the flaws become a bit more apparent. Case in point On the positive side they clearly started individually bagging the arms to prevent the red paint from rubbing onto the legs as was reported in a lot of the early samples and the Anime color version. But yeah, look at those bags. look at how red they are. Can you say "Sticky Fists"? The feet are even stickier. The head is slightly tacky, but nowhere near as bad as the feet or hands. Further the overall paint is old school. The paint on the hard surfaces is wonderfully laid down. No bubbling, drips, flaws or orange peeling. Nice and smooth and shiny. A nice automotive type lacquer it feels like. But even in the above cheesy cell phone pic you can see around the chest details that it isn't that sharp or well masked. At least not by modern standards. Not flawed or sloppy. Just the lines are not cut as sharply and cleanly as most modern offerings. Which is fine. It's an old school classic type bot. The joints are... horrifying. Stiff harsh loud clicky plastic ratchets. I am utterly terrified to move him too much. He has decent enough articulation by design. About the same as some early SOC's. It's just those plastic ratchets feel like nails on a chalkboard. I haven't tried swapping hands. After seeing the reports around here I don't think I will. Don't get me wrong. This is a nice set. Well worth it at the ~ $100 I paid for it. It's a distinct and highly unusual robot who's like we will likely never see again. The Gattaiger itself is awesome. What flaws it has can be worked around in order to get such a oddball subject on display. If I had paid full MSRP for this thing I would probably be extremely disappointed. This is a great robot set for the completionist collector. The obsessive perfectionist collector may want to give it a bit more thought. This is very much an Adult Collector display piece. I don't think it will stand up to too much child's play. Well the Robizer at least. The Gattaiger? Would appear to be fairly indestructible. The little urchins could (and likely would) knock each others skulls in with it. You could probably build a martial arts style around using the thing as a weapon.

Thank you for the brutally honest review.....this is very much appreciated. Using PVC on super simple shaped feet is just insane.
