This thread is for the toy that you had the highest of expectations for, drooled at all the pictures. saved up your money. waited anxiously for it to be released or to find it in stock and bought your prize! checked tracking every 4 or so hours every day anticipating it getting close to you bit by bit. finally reaching your home, your treasure arrives! you open it so excited, but carefully.... play with it... and find out its a big load of die cast trash. insert forever alone meme.
my award for the biggest letdown in a die cast toy goes to the fewture black getter 1 ryoma.
wow. this is the second worse toy that i own, only outcrapped by src solar aquarion, and actually i only paid 7 bucks for aquarion and 280 for the black getter so I think this is probably worse by value.
its a fiddly mess with literally every possible piece that can come off, pops off at the slightest touch: the left arm blades, the chest piece, the cape all spent more time on the floor or the table than on the toy.
it took me about a half hour or so to put it all together proper with things popping off as I adjusted other pieces. i must admit though, it looked good for all 45 seconds that it was together, but i picked it up to change the direction of the tomahawk, then the cape and chest piece immediately jettisoned at the same time and i had to crawl on the floor to get the chest from under the couch.
frustrating doesn't even begin to tell the tale. for this price point it should be far beyond flaws of this nature. I absolutely hate this figure.
sorry guys for the rant on this relatively old toy, i just got it today and im still stunned by this horrible quality.
if anyone is planning on buying it, DONT. spend it on anything else. not this. trust me.
anyways, have any of you bros experienced a letdown like this? with this toy or any others! please share!

Mine is the horrible horrible " WarBot Defender by FansProject...."
Nice triple changer with beautiful design, nice color, and nicely placed diecast bits. However, the plastic they used is super brittle. The very first time i bent the knees, the clicky joint gear literally turn to dust. Smoothing out gears so the knees gives and wont stay put.... Utter garbage..cant even stand, let alone pose. I even bought the optional heels from the 3d printing company. Nothing helps. Just...fail. Since then i never ever touched 3rd party transformer.
I bought it listening to very famouse video reviewer highly recommending the figure....Since then I NEVER ever listen but hear and look at the video reviews. Oh and many Evangelians failed on me. Mine all had loose joints and such, so they are all on one knee sitting ninja pose.
OMG, then theres the most horrific CMs Grendizer....the final nail in its coffin. Truely one of the most infoumously disasterous product in our hobby.

Sorry you had a bad copy of Defender, but seriously lol if you gave up completely on third party Transformers because fansproject's debut standalone figure was dissappointing for you.

If you take offense or have a reason to mock me because i have a different taste then you, then I'M the one whos sorry.

so far what i can think at the moment is Yamato's Garland (infamous brittle metal shoulder) and HL Pro's Gattaiger (that stupid fragile as a chalk wrist joint.. it easily broke)...
will try to remember others..

CM's Baratak Possibly, the worst modern gokin ever. yeah..mostly say that thats the case. but im pretty happy with mine. i dunno.. i think my copy is a "defect" version..LOL .. coz the magnets are just fine. plus most importantly.. CMs version got all the Barattack gattai parts for the same price Evolution Toys is charging for a single Barattack figure. u have to buy the other remaining 3 gattai parts.. as expensive as the first one.

any thing revoltech i bought 3 figure from them at ones and it was a big big mistake the Toynami 30th Anniversary Voltron the CMs Gakeen its good figure but the magnetic joints make it hard for that figure and the mini figures to stand by their own jaylivei think you got a really bad version of fewture black getter repaint i know its a look sensitive but some units are kind ok, i have Getter 1 repaint (the red one) and it have the same problems even the red chest piece got scratched from falling alot, but not like you said here is a hack for you get the damage parts set and put it on, it wont fall because the plastic is lighter and it click better

Oh i forgot about Revoltechs......
They are horrible indeed. I had couple of em and yeah...the joint pegs got really loose. I threw them away after while. What a waste of money that was.

On the SOC line so far, GX-62 Danguard Ace. Much awaited. Much anticipated. Lots of metal and stuff, and nicely heavy. Nice gimmicks and all. Everything about it is quite perfect. Well, almost perfect. Except for that one glaring WTF-Bandai?! issue: The size. It's quite tiny compared to the other SOCs. Especially against its Shogun Warriors bros GX-03/GX-50 Combattra and GX-41 Raideen. I mean, GX-41 is stupidly fiddly, but at least it has a big presence and I'm not as disappointed with it as I am with GX-62. --- On the SRC front, it'll have to be the stupidly tiny God Sigma. I paid twice more than the < $20 it retailed later on.

Worst gokin for me was CM's Grendizer
Worst toy, Toynami's all plastic Voltron... what a turd.. and i had paid $150 for it. Luckily i sold it for $170 before KOB came out.

Hrm. There have been so many crap gokin over the years. Off the top of my head:
- Gigabrain Zeorymer: came pre-broken in three places. Bits randomly fall off every year or so, even though I never touch the thing. - Bandai Turn A Gundam. Shoulders pads always fall off - Every single Yamato valk, ever. Shoulders always seem break. - Most of the early CM's toys. GGG, GFG, GGGG, Great Baan Gaan, Mospeada, etc. Nothing stayed together, the joints couldn't support the weight and too many parts were scary thin. - The Toynami Legioss / Alphas. To quote the late Yappy; 'A toy made from pure hate.' - Popy Albegas - damn brittle blue plastic. - Third party Kronos / Jetfire - bad mix of plastic and diecast with all the wrong tolerances in all the wrong places. Hard to transform without breaking. - King of Beast Voltron - terrible QC and no customer support to address it. - Bandai Hi-Metal L-Gaim - disintegrating rubber hands and hoses. - Kotobukiya - Gaogaigar & Gaofaigar. Another bad mix of resin and diecast. The feet fall off every time you touch it.

Nice job Jay.

treatment... I don't think Danguard Ace is that bad.. but I understand your point if you compare it to ones you mentioned.
Guess I'm lucky so far. Love all the gokins or chogokins I got.. except the SoC GX-45 with his loose hip joints. I remember buying it day one and missing with it everyday pretty much lol. so I think that's why.
Other toys I would say from Revoltech and NECA...
Bought Optimus Prime and couple more from Revoltech and they are so bad waste of money. NECA QC issues QC issues QC issues + I hate the way they package their toys.

Mine would be GD99 AQUARION - very hard to find at a decent price, spend alot of time looking for it. When got it, i've been let down by the very weak joints. Cant even do a decent dynamic pose. CANT EVEN STAND ON ITS OWN ! sold it after a week i bought it. Zero playability value FEWTURE BLUE JET- not a perfect transformation figure, similar to revo joints MAX FACTORY GODANNAR - awesome articulations but loose chest joints and the red part fades overtime ~
