if thats the case.. congrats in advance! forget about Jeeg.. thats what matters most. I still hope it doesn't turn out that way since it's gonna ruin my plans and my budget lol. Still if it turns out that way then I have no choice but to man up to it. I still want that Jeeg though!

Pre-ordered this fella, hehe. We'll see how it turns out in the end, it's competing against the Metal Dynamite Action Jeeg from ET. And since I pre-ordered both, I'll post a nice side-by-side comparison/review in the future.

I am excited to get this. As I never had a proper Jeeg for my SR collection. I do have the Max Factory pre-painted kit, which you only needed to assemble and glue together. Of course I was hoping that they would be releasing one for the SOC line, seeing as they already have Kotetsushin Jeeg for that. They would be pretty sweet to pose together just like the final episode from the OVA. I wouldn't be surprised if they release a SoC sometime afterward, getting us to double-dip!

Ugh! The Obsessive Compulsive Completionist in me finally gave in. I bought an SRC Jeeg. Thankfully I got it second hand for dirt cheap. Even then I think I paid too much. I broke down and got it. I have at least one specimen of all the other SRC's robots/body types (save the two Armored Core ones, which just don't go with the rest. Yuch!) So I got an SRC Jeeg... why oh why did I get an SRC Jeeg? Even a cheap one?
For those that haven't picked one of these gems up yet... don't! It's one of the biggest disappointments of the SRC line. I would say the God Reideen is a marginally worse figure. But I expected that one to be awful. This guy is the most disappointing. Everything about it feels flimsy. The jointing feels low rent compared to the rest of the line. He has good articulation, but the joints feel closer to SHFA then they do to SRC. The ugly unpainted plastic joints everywhere make it look like a Revoltech. I think the most annoying thing is the light blue abdomen parts, The upper and lower abdomen just sort of free float. So they rattle around and are impossible to get set squarely or posed. The bottom underpants section is just awful. It's like he is wearing a loaded diaper. Except for the glaring ugliness of the grey plastic balls at every joint or the bizarre and ugly looking double jointing on the knees, paint and finish is not bad. Sculpt is iffy to my eye, but I'm not a Jeeg expert.
He's a very light figure and quite frankly stands badly. The bulk of the metal is in his upper chest piece, the inner posts for his hips and his feet. And his feet are very small with limited tilt and no toe jointing. The shoulder jointing is perhaps the ugliest most inexplicable thing I have ever seen in a gokin. The arms are held on by these tiny plastic tilt hinges. Don't put this guy near the edge of a shelf. He is light, wobbly and his connectors will likely not survive a shelf dive.
Accessories... in a word SUCK! OK you get three extra hands. Two open hands and the clasped rocket punch thingy (just hands clasped together. No effects. No function.) The two drill units and a stand adapter. Thats it! They didn't even give a converter piece to let you use the drills as a backpack. I mean Jeeg has the Mazinger style crossover connector for a backpack. But no fitting for the drills. The only thing you can do with them is replace his arms with them. Exciting? (Yeah I know its a classic Jeeg thing... but the whole gimmick was ALL the things you could do!)
The figure is an underwhelming disappointment. I'm glad I didn't pay MSRP for it. For the completionist collector only.

What can Bandai Tamashii do to make the SoC better.

I know it's late, but I just wanna get my (controversial) opinion out there. The figure itself does have issues, and it is a bit overpriced (I got mine for almost a hundred shipped [but import taxes in my country are ridiculous, so in reality, I only paid about 65 for the figure, and the rest is import taxes]) but I gotta say that I really love the lil dude. As I said, some things are definitely wrong with, but I just can't help but love it. It's pretty much the only figure I take off the shelf on a daily basis to play with. And in terms of looks it's not bad either. Maybe I'm just too much of a jeeg fan and that makes biased about the figure, but I genuinely like it and I don't regret my purchase one bit. If I could go back in time I would have bought it anyways.

Thats the only Jeeg you really need, and all its parts sets of course Enough to break a bank account nowadays.
