Just look at all the hate art on Grendizer Giga. I just find that sort of thing both childish and petty. Grendizer Giga is more about hating the lame story more than the mech it self they got every Grendizer fan hype with it saying that this is pure Go Nagai without Toei forcing him on anything so it was what Nagai wanted Grendizer to be, and honestly it didnt work at all the story was very weak and including other characters from Nagai world only made the matter worst, so to every fan it was more like an insult to king of the space than a new take How old is Go Nagai these days? I'm just asking. Because as much as we all grew up reading Stan Lee stories, yeah they got a bit weird the deeper he went into his twilight years. Go Nagai started from a strange place. I can only imagine where he goes once they let the unedited OBS flow onto the page.

No doubt. From what im hearing from everyone, everyone in the show did great except the character or/and mech designer.... Voltron should look good standing still, in every angle. And As a toy he should look good on shelf. If this thing look like this in glam and promo shots,i dont want it as a toy imho of course. This show reminds me lot of that disney robot movie the incredible6 or something? Awesome movie, terrible character designs. GGG, you have to watch this series. It's done very well. I enjoyed it very much. I have to disagree that the character and/or mech designer did not do as well. I think the character and mech design were top notch. Not at all like the robots in the Incredibles which were rotund and clumsy looking.

After watching bits and pieces on youtube, Yeah i stand corrected on character designers. The animation itself looks top notch. I didnt mean incredibles, but rather "something 6," you know the one with Baymax. But From what little i saw, exception of the actual design of Voltron himself, everything the new animation looked to have outdone the original,
the new Voltron...the main robot. I just cant get over the stripy lower legs and torso. And again, take away the lion heads and he can blend in as one of thousands of gundam. He is missing the other key element which i identify him as Voltron...his chest piece, the belt buckle. The insignia.

^Oh, you mean Big Hero 6. This is nothing like the design of Big Hero 6. Even the character design is way better. No sharp angles.

I agree about the character design being better, actuall real improvement from the original, from the snipets ive seen from youtube. Its only the new Voltron i have beef with.....

i really can't understand whats not to like with the new one, in addition i don't understand whats so remarkable about the original-it looks square, blocky, and dated. yes, i still love it for nostalgia sake. but the new one looks so much more sleek, able, and powerful. its like the difference between the original grey iron man armor, and a modern one like extremis.

I def agree with ironman looking far far better with the modern ones. The new Voltron, i say its 70 percent there. its just that 30 percent that ruins it for me....the devils in the detail. The original looks blocky and square but works. They all fit 100 percent.
The face, the chest, wings, sword, lower legs and torso on this new voltron, They look...generic, arbituary, boring, uninspiring, and lack character. Its like the designer got tired and said whaever.

and that's why every fan wants him to finish Mazinger z saga before its too late, as many of you knows Great Mazinger ending was empty since the emperor of darkness didn't die, after some digging i found that was for a reason to bring the final season of the saga including this guy this is the original God Mazinger the plan was Koji is going to pilot it and fight against the emperor of darkness but the project didn't see the light for some reason also it will be nice if he complete Grendizer since the ending is not making any since too bro you need (MUST) watch it till the end a bit of glance just wont cut it, after that i want you to hear what you are going to say about it

bro i agree with the sword. i was extremely disappointed with it. very generic, especially being that the blazing sword was pretty much the most dynamic design of all classic super robots.

He is missing the other key element which i identify him as Voltron...his chest piece, the belt buckle. The insignia. The stripping actually has a reason. It's the movement points of the robot. It's all about the motion. One of the more fascinating things about this take is the Lions are distinct, well thought out, and move like cats. Twisting and turning in midair. You are mainly looking at it on Voltron. But the striping is a core element of the Lions that just carries over. Some me of the rest of the more generic or seemingly simplistic design is also to support the motion. And once you see it fight, there will be no comparison to a Gundam. The cat heads give it a very distinct style that we have not seen before. They are not simply hands.

Jay, I agree with you and GGG that the sword is plain looking. I would like to think that a weapons upgrade in a later episode (hopefully) will see a "blazing sword" in a more formidable form. After all, weapons/strength upgrades were very much the norm with super robot shows. I also noticed that this show took some inspiration from recent animés like Daiguard, Gurren Lagann, Gunbuster; which is a good thing.
