I watched this last season when it first dropped in Nexflix, so my memory of it isn’t fresh. But I didn’t dislike it. After watching it, I really wanted to see if they have any intention of continuing the series, perhaps move it onwards with Vehicle Voltron. They show some glimpse of the Vehicle in the final episode.
-Spoilers-
The final season was kinda hard to understand. It’s super nerdy, perhaps too much science, talking about multiverses, manipulation of multiple realities, makes it hard to follow. And of course, Voltron, in the end, wasn’t as kick ass anymore, though it was cool to see that it was able to combine with the bigger ship. My thoughts is that they ended the show and wrapped everything up, really nicely, to the point where there no more questions. At the end, the wars are finally over, Legendary defender Voltron and Princess Allura is gone, perhaps forever. The paladins of Voltron all gets to go on an live their normal lives.
I don’t know what you didn’t like about the way that the show ended. The finally villain is a crazy witch. She had the power to manipulate time and reality to try and find that one she would be most happy in. In doing so, she didn’t care if she destroy all other realities. It took a Princesses Sacrfice to destroy this witch. And in doing so, all realities are save and the Legendary Voltron dies with the Princess. Voltron remains the Legendary Defender of the Universe and it’s storys ends, just as the series ends, with really no Intention of continuation.
This way, if they were to do another series, if they attempted to continue this story, they wouldnt get to use the Lion Voltron no more. It would have to be a brand new one, like the Vehicles they teased. And the original Paladins, they wouldn’t be needed in the Garrison Galactic teams anymore cause they already did their part. Their story has ended.
SPOILERS
most of the shows now spam this ideas to death, multiverses, manipulation of multiple realities time and space, it just became annoying
the final battle was more like a copy from Gurren Lagann final battle, the main robot combine with a ship (another huge robot) and fight another huge robot in a place like the core of the universe
also the final fight was lacking action, i feel like Lotor and his father gave a bigger challenge than the witch, which is odd since she is stronger, also the way she just gave up and sacrifice her self with Allura, i mean what happened to victory or death, another point if she could get Lotor mech back why didn't she get him back and got done with all of this headache
and yes i saw vehicle voltron land team easter egg but i cant say im hype for it
the classic show (Toei Golion) had a better ending in my opinion
